Open Mind School

Amazing staff! My son always looks forward to spending time at Open Mind. An inspiring model of an authentic full inclusion experience. My son's favorite is the indoor gym/OT facility. Can't wait to return!

Unfortunately our son fell and hurt his back at his last session there. He was 1 of 2 kids in attendance that day and there was one person “watching” the kids, although my son said he didn’t notice the fall bc he was working out and looking at himself in the mirror. Like other parents have noted, a fun place for kids, but needs a little more structure and observation. It took a while for our son’s tailbone to heal but fortunately did heal in its own. Meanwhile, we never got a satisfactory response from the camp that would make us feel comfortable going back.

The people were so friendly and warm and welcoming! I felt very happy leaving my kids there each day. My kids seemed to have a good time (if they hadn't been fighting with each other a lot...but that had nothing to do with the quality of the camp). My only suggestion is to offer more transparency to parents. There was a feeling of dropping them off and having no idea what they did all day short of the very basic reports I got from my very young kids themselves, who are less than capable of expanding on their days. I thought there was going to be science and art activities, and perhaps there were, but when I asked my kids they said no. I obviously could've called to make a pest of myself and ask, but figured if they were happy there, that was good enough. I guess I just can't recommend it to a friend b/c I don't feel confident that I actually know what it was all about. But the good-heartedness of the staff is what is most important to us, and Open Mind definitely has that down pat.

I love the flexibility of this program. I've brought children of different ages for various programs- afterschool, day pass, camps, and ninja warrior. The staff are compassionate, and welcoming, and try hard to engage children. The facility and equipment are really impressive and well taken care of in the gym and classrooms. I love the energy of the space and the ease of texting them and dropping in whenever. Great communication and impressive diversity.

Open Mind School is an inspired, collaborative school. Its gym draws so many kids and its staff leading those activities are collectively kind, sincere, and committed to all kinds of learning and skill-building through play. It’s one of a kind and a quick glance at its Facebook page tells you everything about the quality of engagement, community-building, and fun. We have had the best experience! Thank you OMS!

Incredible program, amazing space - full Ninja Warrior course onsite!

Our son thoroughly enjoyed the summer camp at OMS in 2023, specially the Ninja Warrior. The staff are very skilled, kind, enthusiastic, and caring and the infrastructure is great. It is truly a place that opens the minds of children, lets them explore, identify their strengths and tracks. At the end of the day, he always returned home with a smile.

Our son came home from this one day camp (Feb 5) telling us that it seemed to be more of a special education class. I didn’t notice that was the case when I signed him up. He enjoyed the indoor climbing space, and it would be nice for him to be able to attend another day but I wonder if perhaps this is more of a special education class? He felt it was very difficult to interact with the other children, but that they seemed nice. I would say it was not a good fit for him overall.

We love the enrichment programs and summer camps offered by Open Minds school. They cater to neurodiverse individuals with purposeful and enagaging programs with needed sensory and movement breaks and individual attention as needed.

Open Mind provides excellent and engaging programs that my child thoroughly enjoys. They have highly professional and well trained staff who enjoy their time with the kids and make the activities fun!

Our son had a fabulous time at the summer camp. We were initially hesitant since this was his first summer camp and he was one of the younger kids at the camp. He was super happy everyday he came home and we could see that the staff had taken care of him well during the camp. The staff is extremely friendly, welcoming and I love their inclusion philosophy. In most places, given my son is hyperactive, I'd always worry about whether and how they would manage him, but I'd leave him here without the slightest worry.

Ninja gym with neurodivergent fitness training is an awesome blend for keeping kids in shape and having fun doing it.

Kids love attending! They are very communicative with parents and kind with the kids.

The place is good but the instructors need to be little bit more involved with the kids.

The kids enjoyed it so much that they wanted to come back. Despite not appearing highly structured, both of our very different children were content and thrilled with the gym activities.

My daughter comes back from Open Mind School enlivened, happy-tired and full of tales of her adventures playing on the equipment and making new friends. The staff are so warm, and welcoming. While our daughter does not attend school here full time, she feels so at home here

The school is most definitely for neurodivergent kids, which they need to be more transparent about. The cost does not match an experience for a neurotypical kiddo. $550 for 5 long days of open gym, being marketed as Ninja Warrior Camp. My kids still had fun and made it work, but it wasn’t what we thought we were signing up for at all.

Open Mind School (OMS) provides an inclusive, enriching, and affirming environment for my teen. He asks to go there on the weekends! We are so grateful for all the support he receives at OMS.

This gym is amazing! You can’t tell from the outside but the equipment is top notch. My son did camp over winter break and loved it.

We enrolled our 8 and 11 year olds in the “Ninja Warrior course” from 4 to 5pm. We didn’t know the place yet.
The place is very nice for the kids but it was not a course or a class. We enrolled our children assuming it would be a course, since the name of the activity/camp is described as a “course”.
It would be very nice if someone had guidance on how to use all the equipment but they had fun anyway.

Excellent program!! My son was so happy when pick him up and couldn’t stop telling me all the stuff he did!

Great fun for the whole family - lots of different obstacles and climbing surfaces, and an excellent workout!

I brought 4 kids and they all loved it. The place really lived us to a ninja warrior set. The host Sally was so nice and got the kids engaged. I really recommend this place if you want to get kids to have fun and exercise.

My 10 year old enjoyed the one day pass during Spring Break. They do very light academic enrichment which I was initially worried would annoy my son, but he came back home really happy and wanting to go back again.

It’s amazing. My son want to go back again! The place is ready for play and do so many things.

We have now been twice....We love it! We have 4 kids so the sibling discount is amazing! $35 for all 4 of y kiddos to run around and have a blast? Yes please! Ms. Sally is amazing as well! She's always very attentive to all the kids

The Ninja Warrior Course was a blast for my two boys 12 & 14yrs old! The course is just the right amount of challenging and lots of free-running fun. The helpers were encouraging and helpful and the equipment is very clean and new. Will definitely return again soon!
