This hands-on experience is perfect for kids aged 9-15 who are curious about technology, design, and creativity.
DIY Friction-Fit Design: Discover the principles of friction-fit design and build your own 3D holographic hardware without the need for glue or screws.
3D Model Creation: Learn to create and animate your own 3D models using the best 3D educational entertainment apps. Explore a vast universe of over 12 million free 3D models spanning various fields like archaeology, botany, chemistry, architecture, and arts.
AI Holographic Avatars: Interact with AI holographic avatars and experience the magic of bringing cute, cartoon-like 3D illusions to life.
Custom XR Dioramas: Each participant will build their own LemurBox XR diorama kit, guided by expert instructors through six hands-on educational modules.
Presentation & Certificate: The day will culminate in a fun diorama presentation, where participants showcase their creations to parents. All students will receive a certificate of completion and get to take home their LemurBox XR kits.
Three exciting technological revolutions—Artificial Intelligence (Large Language Models), 3D Computer Vision, and Geometric Optics—are converging in this workshop. MakerNexus, in partnership with HAL51 AI, offers a unique, affordable opportunity for kids to explore these cutting-edge fields through engaging, hands-on activities.
Participants will use their own smartphones and tablets to explore the 3D world, learn to download, generate, and animate digital models, and incorporate them into their custom-built LemurBoxes. This multidisciplinary experience will introduce kids to these diverse and exciting academic areas using a single extensible DIY hardware framework. And the best part? They get to take their LemurBox home and continue their learning adventures!
The participants will be split into two age groups: 9-12 & 12-15 & will work on material pertaining to the same modular themes mapping to 2 levels of difficulty (Intro & Advanced)
They will have a lunch break from 12:30-1:00 pm
