Look Up to the Stars
Join forces with international award-winning astronomer and consultant to NASA, Kevin Manning, a man on no ordinary mission. Kevin founded Look Up to the Stars with a mission to generate interest and foster scientific literacy in students nationwide through the delivery of awe-inspiring, educational and entertaining astronomy programs.
Truly breathtaking images, video clips and fun hands-on activities make for an unforgettable cosmic journey. Children of all ages can be inspired to think big, dream big, and to foster curiosity about an enormous universe in which the boundaries appear unlimited.
With the understanding of some simple terminology and concepts, the general public is better informed about space and the celestial objects that reside overhead. The spark of interest often ignites in young minds where the ABC's of the universe are brought to light.
We offer Astronomy classes and camps for kids of all ages.

Our Staff
Kevin is a gifted astronomer, having worked as a consultant with NASA, the Chandra X-Ray Observatory launched on the space shuttle with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, was both a Wright Fellow at Tufts University and an Einstein Fellow working with NASA Headquarters, the US House of Representatives, and the US Dept of Energy Office of Science on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, and did some work with Brookhaven National Laboratory. Besides the numerous workshops he's presented over the years, some noteworthy ones include those made at Tufts University, State University of New York at Stony Brook, the National Science Teachers Association's National Convention, American Association for the Advancement of Science Breakfast with Scientists, and the National Parks Service.

We met Kevin at Dixon, Illinois, where my kids got to watch a meteor shower with him. After he answered all my children's questions and took pictures with them. Hi Michele, On Tuesday of camp we look at stars, constellations, Messier Objects, and locating them using star charts. I'd be glad to make up this class for your child either at a later time, day or week. Would that help?

I see that sessions run for almost a full year. Does the content change every now and then or does it stay the same? In other words, if I sign up for more than one session how do I know that the 2nd session won't be a repetition of the first?

Hi Karen, there are about 20 different topics on astronomy so each program is different. I am also able to customize a program for your needs as well. As long as the time between programs isn't too long, I would remember which we have done going forward. Of course, you could always remind me as well if you had the same program before, and I'll change to another one. -
Who can attend under the $75 Family virtual astronomy programs? Is that all kids in a household plus one parent?
