Overview

Looking for a Fun Astronomy Camp done Virtually, well this one's Out of this World! With our Camp Universe, children ages 5-13 can be inspired to think big, dream big, and to foster curiosity about an enormous universe in which the boundaries appear unlimited. The spark of interest often ignites in young minds where the ABC's of the universe are brought to light.

Exciting week-long sessions for children grades K-8 with lots of fun STEM hands-on activities as they are guided into the mysteries of the universe by a real astronomer who was a consultant with NASA and worked with a space telescope. The entire week is filled with constant fun and excitement as everyone experiences a supernova explosion of new knowledge and understanding in this virtual journey throughout the cosmos. With the understanding of some simple terminology and concepts, they are better informed about space and the celestial objects that reside overhead. Some of the many outrageous activities include constructing a Starfinder, using Oreo cookies to see the phases of the Moon, and building an actual telescope from a kit provided by the camp for week-long campers.

Topics include:
•    Astronomy for Everyone: Size & Scale of the Universe
•    Roadmap to the Stars: the Night Sky Explained
•    A Grand Tour of the Solar System & Beyond
•    Gazing Upon a Cosmic Ocean
•    Exploring the Moon & Mars and the Deep-Space Search for Another Earth
•    Movers in the Sky: Comets, Meteors & Asteroids
•    When Celestial Bodies Collide: Eclipses & Other Phenomena
•    Telescopes: Eyes on the Universe

Many fun and educational STEM hands-on activities are done throughout the week, ending with the construction of a telescope from a provided kit mailed to your home for week-long campers.

Awesome! My 12yr old even wrote down facts to keep so she could share her knowledge. Kevin made it really interesting and because of that we signed up for another one! Great program for those hot summer days and cool nights to look at the stars and learn more about them.

We met Kevin at Dixon, Illinois, where my kids got to watch a meteor shower with him. After he answered all my children's questions and took pictures with them. We are fulfilling elijahsbabybucketlist.com for my terminal son! He helped make unforgettable memories my kids will cherish for their entire lifetime!

Thank you, Amy! I am praying for Elijah to be healed. The name of Jesus Christ is above the name of Lissencephaly.
Kevin Manning's presentations are fantastic. They are engaging and filled with well-organized astronomy information. I am pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering, enkindled in part by Kevin's presentations that I attended when I was younger.

Thank you so much, Nicholas! It was always a unique pleasure to have you in my class, and thankful to Donna for her encouraging presence as well. I still enjoy looking at the picture of you and her with the telescope you built from scratch. Blessings to you in your new career.

Hi Michele, On Tuesday of camp we look at stars, constellations, Messier Objects, and locating them using star charts. I'd be glad to make up this class for your child either at a later time, day or week. Would that help? Kevin -
