As a youth development organization, Youth Career Camp Inc. has been making profound positive impacts in the lives of youth, helping to improve the local Youth Labor Force Participation Rate, and strengthening communities, for over 12 years, by providing quality professional employability skills training, preparation for higher education, entrepreneurship training, and critical life skills.
As a key component of the Georgia Southern University Business Innovation Group (BIG), The Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) teaches youth about self-employment as a career path, provide youth the skills to identify market opportunities, stimulate young creative minds to create profitable products or services, and mentor them to successfully launch new business enterprises and become successful business owners.Together, YCC and YEP provides a unique comprehensive residential, workforce readiness, career exploration, and entrepreneurship immersion camp (YCC-YEP) for ages 14-21.
Objectives:
The objective of YCC-YEP is to develop workforce ready, career focused, innovative entrepreneurs through experiential learning, skillset discovery, coaching, real world occupational exploration, and business development strategies designed to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit. Training include, but is not limited to:
Employability Skills Training; Hands-on Career Exploration; Job Skills/Trade Discovery; Financial Literacy Training; College; Preparation and ged Preparation; Digital Fabrication; Entrepreneurship Mentoring; Business Startup Training; Pitch and Delivery Development; Financing and Modeling: Go-to-Market Strategies.
Past occupational explorations included Gulfstream, VIRACON, Briggs and Stratton, WL Plastics, Great Dane, WTOC News, Fort Stewart Leadership Academy, CocaCola Company, EA-Sports Company, NASA Space Center Houston, TX, and Microsoft.
Purpose:
The purpose of YCC-YEP is to provide career exploration and educational guidance for youth ages 14-21, improve the their possibilities of gaining employment, connect entrepreneurship as a career path, help youth develop good decision making skills, improve personal and professional interaction skills, and help build strong communities.
