Overview

At Yes For Chess, we take a unique approach to teaching chess to children. Rather than forcing students to memorize lengthy combination patterns and judging success entirely on winning, we concentrate on the end result of playing chess, which is developing critical-thinking, creative problem-solving, concentration and patience. We believe that chess should be used as a tool to teach students skills they will use throughout their academic careers. We are certain that a child's improvement in the classroom and progress on a chessboard are interconnected.

No prior chess experience required Each class is an hour long ( 30 minutes chess lesson and 30 minute chess play)

My son was pretty enthusiastic about the class. He learned strategies he didn’t know before, and got to play against kids who were his age and older, all kids he knew from school. He asked to join again the next time it’s available. That’s a compliment from a kid who would rather spend his time in front of a tablet. He hangs the medal he got (every kid gets one) in his bedroom.
Questions & Answers
With school now being on hold for the year, is there any information related to a pro-rated refund for past and future missed classes? I had exchanged emails a few weeks ago with a "James Ursin" discussing online options. However, when I sent an inquiry tonight, it bounced back as un-deliverable and the YesForChess website is down. Hopefully just a temporary issue.... Has anybody else had feedback on this matter? (Yes for Chess Class at Jensen Ranch) -

Apologize for any confusion or delay. You are correct, parents are entitled prorated refunds for the shorten winter and spring chess sessions. You can choose to join our distance learning class or get a prorated refund. Please email us at info@yesforchess.com and are happy to take care of this. Thanks! -
