Van Der Zwaan Dance Studio

Van Der Zwaan Dance is a dance studio in North Berkeley .

Paula's (the studio owner) goal is to create a second home for her students, a community where students come together and fall in love with dance as she did when she was a child . Van Der Zwaan Dance Studio is offering many dance styles and levels for ages 3 to Adults. Our Summer Camps have always been very popular especially to students who love to perform. 

Van Der Zwaan dance Studio has an amazing talented staff who are passionate about dance and teaching children.  Anyone is welcome to join van der Zwaan Dance studio as long as  they enjoy to dance! 

Dance styles we are offering: Ballet-Jazz-Hip Hop-Modern-Contemporary-tap to name a few.

Our Staff

All of our staff  have been teaching and performing for many years and are teaching in several dance studios throughout the bay Area like Shawl Anderson and ODC to name a few . You can find their Bio on our website.

Honors & Awards

Our Dance Team have been World dance champions in 2018 2019 and 2020. Van Der Zwaan won many awards over the years.

My daughter started dance there just before the pandemic hit. I appreciated their flexibility in getting remote dance options available as it was a great option for us! We can't wait to get back into the studio in person

I would highly recommend VDZ dance studio. My daughter took dance there for years and loved every second of it. The classes and summer camps are wonderful. It was great to watch her confidence grow through dance.

My son has been attending dance classes here for over a year. The classes are inclusive and engaging and the teachers are all caring and enthusiastic. My son started late as a dancer at 12 years old so the beginner teen class was a perfect option for him
