Our son came home from this one day camp (Feb 5) telling us that it seemed to be more of a special education class. I didn’t notice that was the case when I signed him up. He enjoyed the indoor climbing space, and it would be nice for him to be able to attend another day but I wonder if perhaps this is more of a special education class? He felt it was very difficult to interact with the other children, but that they seemed nice. I would say it was not a good fit for him overall.

Our programs are designed to be inclusive and welcoming to children of all backgrounds, abilities, and family configurations. We strive to create an environment where every child feels valued and supported. While we do offer accommodations and support for children with support service needs, our programs are not specifically tailored as special education classes. We aim to provide enriching experiences for all participants. We are glad to hear about your son's positive experience with the indoor climbing space and are glad to hear that he found the other children to be nice. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome your son back to another one of our programs in the future. We recommend trying a recreational camp option.

My daughter comes back from Open Mind School enlivened, happy-tired and full of tales of her adventures playing on the equipment and making new friends. The staff are so warm, and welcoming. While our daughter does not attend school here full time, she feels so at home here
