We use Minecraft Java edition. Our servers are not compatible with Bedrock editions of Minecraft. If you do not own Minecraft Java edition, we can lend an account to use during the workshop at no extra charge. -

Students who sign up for our classes gain access to one of NYSoP's Minecraft accounts for the duration of the class. However, a computer that is able to install and run Minecraft is required. You can find the system requirements for Minecraft by following the link below-https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360035131371-Minecraft-Java-Edition-System-Requirements- -

Students create a new character when they join NYSoP, which is entered into our character database and updated in real-time via google docs. In the interest of fairness and balance, students are not allowed to play characters they have created on their own or from other programs. -
