New York Chess Academy is hosting a friendly tournament with FREE admission! The purpose of this tournament is to have fun, make friends, and to let students build up their tournament experience. There will also be an optional Zoom call running alongside the event where you can meet other kids and socialize. This would be an excellent opportunity for students to apply and practice what they’ve learned.

For unrated players up to 1400 USCF rating only
Arena Format - At the beginning of the tournament, players are paired based on their rating. As soon as they finish a game, return to the tournament lobby: they will then be paired with a player close to their ranking. Some players may play more games than the other - which we have no control over. LiChess is doing the pairings.

Time control: 10+0 - each player will start with 10 minutes time limit
This is a FREE tournament open to all NYCA students, families, and friends
Joining the Zoom is optional - this is for the participants to meet and interact with the other players
Zoom and LiChess tournament links will be sent out prior to the start of the event
** The top 3 players will receive a $10 credit applicable to any group programs.
