MTS Music & Rock Band Camp

My 12 year old son looks forward to Summer camp every year with Jesse and Melissa. He came into MTS approximately 3 years ago with piano as his primary focus. He is now playing piano, guitar, drums and ukulele. He loves being able to explore new instruments during camp, and collaborating with other young musicians. Jesse gives them the opportunity to explore music and learn from their peers. We are excited as parents at the end of camp to see what the kids have worked on. It’s pretty amazing!!!

Jesse has been our child's music teacher for many years now - guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, and more. My son looks forward to his lessons every week. Jesse majored in music education and is phenomenal with kids - not only do his students have a lot of fun, but they are clearly learning a lot of complex skills as well. He also teaches band classes and summer camps and encourages his students to direct and drive their own learning. During the weeklong camps (my son has participated every summer that camps have been offered), there is a good mix of indoor/outdoor time, music practice and collaboration, and creative work towards a project/performance for the last day. Jesse is a perfect blend of gentle but strict and teaches the kids how to take care of their instruments, set up accompanying equipment, etc. He genuinely encourages a love and appreciation for music and we feel lucky to know him. We highly recommend Jesse to all our friends.
