Mountain Camp Family Of Camps

Looking for a summer adventure for your kids right here in Marin? Mountain Camp Marin provides the closeness and connection of a sleepaway camp, packaged in a local, day camp model. Our K–8 camp lets campers choose their activities (from archery, to performing arts, to LARPing) and is focused on fostering community and friendship. Each week has a different theme and includes a dress-up day on Wacky Wednesday when counselors and campers alike go all-out!

Our focus is promoting social-emotional learning in a tech-free environment. In partnership with Stanford's Graduate School of Education, we've pioneered industry shaping research on the benefits of quality camp programming. Learn more about this research on our website!

Mountain Camp Marin is hosted at the Mark Day School in San Rafael, CA. We offer one-week sessions from June 17–July 26. Camp runs from 8:45am–4:45pm, with add-ons of extended care and lunch offerings available.

Mountain Camp Marin has been such a great experience for our boys, Carter and Jack! Every day they came home with huge smiles, fun stories, and so much excitement about what they did. The staff is awesome—so friendly and enthusiastic, and you can tell they really care about the kids.

Carter and Jack loved all the activities and especially got into the structured badge award system. It was such a fun way to keep them motivated and proud of what they accomplished. They made new friends, learned a bunch of new skills, and spent their days outside in the most beautiful setting.

We’re so grateful for the memories they made and can’t wait for them to go back next summer! Highly recommend Mountain Camp Marin to any family looking for a fun, well-organized camp experience.

When registering for camps, we parents are hoping that our kids will spend time outside, have fun learning skills(social and otherwise), and make friends all in an environment with caring adults who keep us informed. Our family found this with Mountain Camp Marin. Our six-year-old attended for one week, Harry Potter week, last year and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. The pennant flag he received is still prominently displayed in his room. This is a special memory for him. He wants to return this summer and so does little brother.

As a parent, choosing the right summer camp can feel like an overwhelming decision, but sending my child to Mountain Camp Marin was, without a doubt, the best choice I ever made! From the moment we arrived, it was clear this camp is something special.

My daughter spent her days immersed in a variety of adventures—archery, swimming, drama, etc. and participated in team-building activities that encouraged independence and confidence. The balance of structured activities and free exploration allowed her to try new things while also discovering her own interests.

What really stood out to me was the incredible staff. The counselors are warm, attentive, and truly invested in creating a safe, inclusive, and fun environment. They went above and beyond to make every camper feel seen and valued.

As a parent, I also appreciated the open communication. We received updates and photos throughout the session, which gave me peace of mind and a glimpse into what the campers were doing.
