  • Ages 8-11 (Young Leaders): The Young Leaders role-play as council members and city leaders to address the needs of their LEGO® citizens, tackle real-world problems and budget constraints, while honing their creativity, critical thinking, confidence, and leadership skills.

In the second week, campers continue to build and manage their metropolis, while putting on the additional hat of a Young Entrepreneur to launch and manage businesses!

They role-play as business leaders, coming up with creative business ideas for their city, and launch fully operational LEGO businesses while developing key entrepreneurial skills.

  • Ages 6-8 (Young Entrepreneurs): Create and run a LEGO business, from brainstorming ideas to managing customers and products.

KIDIZENS BUILDS FUTURE LEADERS!

Our mission is to empower children to be the architects of their own city-building and overall camp  experience! The program is designed to nurture social skills, foster civic awareness, and encourage empathy. There’s so much to enjoy at camp:

  • LEGO Play-Based Learning: Let your imagination run wild as you work with partners to construct the LEGO city of your dreams! Creativity is on full display at Kidizens as campers build their dream cities with elaborate infrastructure – towering skyscrapers, fancy restaurants, functional transportation systems, and more!

  • Real-Life Skills and SEL: More than just LEGO building! At Kidizens, we learn by doing! The immersive city and community-building experience exposes campers to real-life lessons and strategies. Activities such as city council meetings, debates, speeches, and project proposals encourage critical thinking, confidence, and communication skills!

  • Educational Enrichment: Many economic, civic, and social concepts come to life as campers tinker away, LEGOing to their heart’s content, and build their vibrant cities. Money management, social studies, geography, and history are at the core of the Kidizens curriculum.

My kids had a great time and learned about operation, logistics, and seem to have a greater appreciation of the work that goes into building their living space after attending Build-a-City Lego camp. There was a good amount of outdoor time during lunch and the location was convenient. The timing of the camp could be better- a 9a start time is late and disruptive to the workday. It would be nice to have an early drop off option (at least 8:30A).

Josh, Janessa, and Jack at the Belmont location were great! They had wonderful energy to keep our group of 6-7 year olds engaged and we loved the presentation they had at the end. I would highly recommended for kids who love LEGOS.

Yes! Siblings can absolutely work together as Co-Mayors during the camp. We especially encourage these sibling duos during Covid times when every participant or group of participants needs to have their own space to build and work in. Hope this helps! -

Hi Elisangela, We do require all children to wear masks during camp hours (they can always step outside for fresh air if/when uncomfortable). Our days are nicely balanced between outdoor snack/lunch time and indoor building/discussion time. The children have their own tables to work on while building their cities and each kid gets a personalized inventory set for the day/week. The children still collaborate together on many issues in a group and our goal is for them to still have fun, while maintaining the social distance. We ran our in-person camps successfully in person this summer while following these guidelines and being in full compliance with CDC and county health guidelines. I'm happy to email you our detailed policy guidelines and share further details. Thanks. -
