Overview

This winter, take your creativity and confidence to towering heights at Kidizens’ Young Mayors Winter Camps! During the excitement-packed 3-day camps, kids become mayors and are immersed in the highly experiential and collaborative process of building, managing, and governing their own hand-built, LEGO cities.

The Kidizens program leverages your child’s love of LEGOs to help them learn important 21st-century skills and leadership strategies, all while having tons of fun creating whole civilizations from the ground up. These moderator-led, highly interactive Zoom sessions provide a creative learning environment. Kids will learn about many real-life topics in the context of a utopian city-building framework, as well as have run role-playing and living in a virtual world.

This camp blends virtual meetings, project-based learning, and social interactions to recreate a camp experience that is fun and informative! The online participants will interact with and build alongside their in-person peers, making for a collaborative and engaging session of tinkering, sharing, feedback, and personal growth!

Schedule

Camps meet 5 times per week, Monday through Friday. The camp runs from 10:00 am PST to 2:30 pm PST.

This will include a 30 min lunch and 15-min snack break.

For campers coming from out of state, we are prepared to accommodate different time zones and schedules.

My 8-year old loved the Young Mayors Online camp, he likes to build LEGOs and got a lot of good ideas from the camp instructors.

What a wonderful virtual camp that I would highly recommend. My daughter's camp counselor (and helper) were so patient, enthusiastic and fun! My daughter loved her experience and I was so impressed! Great work and would definitely sign up again for in person or online!

We really liked the use of Legos to practice solving real life problems of a mayor running a city. Very cute projects with lots of deeper questions to explore.
Questions & Answers
Can you tell us a little about how you plan to transition this to an online camp? It says in the description that the kids would be building their cities in groups of 2 or 3. So, not sure how that would work on Zoom. (Young Mayors Online Lego Camp) -
