There is actually no coding in this camp. They asked kids to assemble the robo cars and then disassemble it for 3 days. Use a GUI tool to drag some code logic. No python coding at all, only some python introduction. In the last day, there is almost no activity, just told kids to disassemble car they built. I regret to sign up my son for this camp. It's more like a lego engineering camp. I can purchase a lego kit which is under $100. I don't see a good value with this camp and mad of wasting time to attend this camp. I bought a raspberry pi kit in the computer center at first floor (Futurebytes is at 3rd floor) which is $170 and plan to teach my kid myself.

My son Anh Minh, a fourth grader, attended the Robot Design for Rookies at Futurebytes Tech, for two weeks this summer (July 26-30 and August 2-6). It was his first time attending a summer camp focusing on this topic. He smiled from ear to ear whenever he talked with me and other people about his learning experience at the camp. Anh MInh was curious about what he had learned, such that he went to public libraries to borrow books about robot design and coding to read and practice more at home. Ms Jyothi, the owner of Futurebytes Tech, was very kind, creative, and supportive. My son greatly enjoyed working with her and other talented students. I felt thankful for the needs-based scholarship that Futurebytes Tech offered my son. Without this scholarship, ANh Minh would not have been able to attend the Robot Design for Rookies camp. Highly recommended! Quy Nguyen (Anh Minh Nguyen’s mother)

My 10 year old enjoyed this camp. He is a bit more advanced and completed the intended project early, so I appreciated that Jyothi gave him opportunities to explore and experiment with other technologies and equipment. My son especially appreciated the less-structured afternoons where he could follow his interests. He did have complaints of equipment not always working properly, but I imagine that is hard to stay on top of when you have kids handling it and perhaps offers a problem solving opportunity for the kids.

The most important thing is that our daughter (almost 10) enjoyed this camp, which is not always the case. The people running it are very friendly. We would do a program with them again.
The camp was a bit more unstructured than I was expecting, but I think that was part of what my daughter liked -- having some time to do what they wanted (legos, drawing, making up games with the other kids). The car they built was cool. In the afternoons, they did STEM activities (built a bridge from popsicle sticks, chemical reactions, etc). We were expecting some kind of entrepreneurship activities in the afternoons, but here again, I suspect that our daughter the STEM stuff more than she would have enjoyed the entrepreneurial stuff

Parent of 7 and 11 year old
My kids went to robotics winter camp offered by Future Bytes - Raspberry Pi Car Robotics. They were very happy, had fun and learned new things every day. Materials were very thought out and planned. Appropriate for the age and learning in a fun way. Not only this camp is excellent in teaching kids everything in the camp’s tech description but also taught some key entrepreneurial stuff such as how to formulate business ideas , financial knowledge, biz kids examples & differentiators and skills to be a successful leader. Both my kids enjoyed the camp so much that they would continue to program & write down their business plan until late night every day, I had to take away their computers to stop them. Overall, I am very happy with the camp and would enroll kids again in the summer. Thanks Jyothi for your dedication towards giving kids a wonderful experience!
