Overview

Soon-to-be skateboarders learn the fundamentals—and experience the fun—of independent skating in this half-day camp. Led by our accomplished team, boarding beginners will learn basic skateboarding mechanics and riding skills in an encouraging, on-site environment.

Grouped by grade—2nd – 4th graders join our Intro to Skate Skills Camp, while 5th – 7th graders are part of our Intro to Skate Adventure Team—campers experience a nurturing 5:1 camper-to-staff ratio for plenty of individualized support as they build their skills. They spend the week getting comfortable on their boards, learning about their equipment and gear and understanding the elements of skateboarding’s unique culture. By week’s end, they have the skills and confidence to ride at their local skate park.

Kids will learn:

Skateboarding Skills:  Campers get comfortable riding on both long and short boards, learning basic skills including balancing, riding transitions, carving and tic tacking. They’ll also learn some beginning tricks and put their skills to the test through various drills and courses.

Safety & Equipment:  We get campers familiar with the gear they need to ride—boards, pads, helmets—and give them some practice doing basic maintenance on their boards. They also learn the skateboarding rules of the road and how to fall safely.

Skating Etiquette:  Throughout the week, we introduce campers to the fundamentals of skateboarding culture, terminology and etiquette, so they’re comfortable joining the regulars at their local skate park.

My 7 year old son loved the Skills camp. Everyday was a new adventure. Staff was amazing. We’ll be back again next year.
