Overview

Student-Teacher Ratio 8:1

ATX Kids Club is one of the most adventure-some programs in Austin with a different educational field trip every day! Our campers learn so much about Austin and how to explore their own city. Our program includes traveling on CapMetro to our favorite destinations.

Average Group: 8 campers to 1 Field Trip Leader and 1 Teen Leader Volunteer.

Children will travel with a Field Trip Leader via CapMetro to their scheduled destination, explore, enjoy a picnic lunch, explore some more, and then return back to their drop off/pick up location. The schedule of activities are planned in advance but subject to change due to weather.

There is a great deal of walking, with a focus on fitness and healthy eating during our camp.

Each week of summer camp we explore different locations based around a theme, and may include some or all of the listed adventures below.

We also include weekly visits to Splash Pads, libraries, and local parks. Our registration page displays which theme is offered each week.

  • Nature Week: Austin Nature & Science Center, Zilker Botanical Gardens, Zilker Splash Exhibit (Aquifers), Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Umlauf Sculpture Garden, Nature Walks & Bug Hunts, Mayfield Park, UT's turtle pond
  • Texas/Diversity Week: Texas State Capitol, Texas State Cemetery,  Texas State History Museum, Elisabet Ney Museum, City Hall, Governor's Mansion, Camp Mabry, LBJ Library,  UT Stark Center & Stadium Tour, O'Henry & Susannah Dickinson house, George Washington Carver Museum, Texas School for the Blind, African American Heritage and Cultural Center, Mexican American Cultural Center, Community First Village.
  • Arts/Culture Week: Blanton Museum, Mexic-Arte Museum, Museum of Collectibles, Laguna Gloria, Umlauf Sculpture Garden. Elisabet Ney Museum, Mexic-Arte Museum, Harry Ransom Center, Local Radio stations.
  • Health/Fitness Week: TaeKwonDo, Martial Arts, Self-Defense, Disc Golf, Bowling, Rock Climbing, Central Market, Whole Foods, Yoga, Meditation,
  • Mixed Theme Week: a week filled with mixed locations from themes above

Camp ATX has been our children's favorite summer camp! Not only are they well staffed and have a great program, they also have been very kind and patient with our son who has ADHD and autism. I'm so grateful for this amazing camp!

More babysitting than camp. I read a review that someone didn't like the things said to other children at the camp and I agree. Will not be going back.

Thank you so much for taking our call this morning to discuss your review. This summer definitely presented some challenges for us, both the heat and our new SERVE week programming had some hiccups. We understand that the extreme afternoon temperatures led to more afternoon library time than anticipated. This is often a struggle to meet everyone's needs and expectations while keeping safety our top priority. We are always looking for new ways to improve and will definitely take this feedback seriously and work toward improving our camp experience for our campers. Please feel free to email us with any additional feedback. Thank you again for taking the time to speak with us.
Questions & Answers
I would like to sign my son up. He’s eight years old. He’s been to a couple of the summer camps before. We would like to invite a friend of his to join him but I believe he’s only seven. Is it possible for his friend to move up into the 8 to 12 year old group so that they can be together? (ATX Summer Camp Adventures) -

Thank you for your question. They would both be able to register for our group of 4-8 year olds. -
Is my 7 year old son allowed to bring a life vest for swimming where he can’t touch. He’s almost at the point of swimming on his own but not quite yet. I don’t want him missing out on anything, especially since he loves the water so much! Also, I ordered him a tank top but want to add a couple more please. Thank you so much (ATX Summer Camp Adventures) -

Thank you for your question. We don't actually take children to swimming pools. We go to splash pads and will sometimes stop along Barton Creek when on a hike. We can invoice you for additional tank tops/shirts, just let us know how many. -
