This week, we will learn how our lungs use the air that we breathe to bring oxygen into the body and how to make healthy choices that keep our lungs working well!
We will also learn about how asthma, smoking and viruses can affect the lungs.
We will make a model of the lungs, using household items, and will do an activity called “Unlock Your Host” to learn how viruses spread between animals and people.
Note: There may be discussion of current events (COVID-19).
Materials (optional, if child wants to do activities at home)
- 2 drinking straws
- 2 plastic sandwich or ziploc bags
- washi or scotch tape
- 2 sheets of paper
- crayons, markers or colored pencils
