RETURNING!! CREATIVE WRITING with Heather MacLeod
Grades 3-5 (class size: max 8; fee $135); Tuesdays 3:15-4:45 (1½ hrs), 9 weeks, Jan 24 to Mar 21
In this fiction writing class, we play cooperative board games and act and write those games into a story. This year we will play a game called "Arctic Adventure: Thin Ice." We will learn about animals in the Arctic, we will write letters about protecting those animals, and we will write a fictional story of an adventure in the Arctic. We will also write skits to act out as part of our stories. The teacher, Heather MacLeod, teaches the creative writing class for UC Berkeley's summer Academic Talent Development Program.

Some of them started getting more into chess and they ended up fielding a team at the BCS Elementary School tournament. The cost is very reasonable for a program of this sort.
