I picked my son up at the end of the day and he said he wanted to stay. He told me great stories of his activities for the day. I’m looking forward to the next opportunity to take him back for a day or a week. RBL Camp manages to foster creativity, fun and inclusion. Will happily use them again.

Our son loved his time with RBL. He was challenged and encouraged, and grew as a musician. Plus staff communication with parents was stellar.

REVIEWING: Rock Out (w/free van service), Advanced Band, Spring Break Camp, day camps, and summer camps for 3 kids ages 8, 9, 11 + ERO for myself and with a 5yo counting down the days till her first RBL adventure, the only thing she wants for her 6th birthday.

And if all you need is the practical, RBL is very organized, with excellent communication and highly skilled staff. Your kids will leave there believing they just exited a magical realm that surpasses anything they previously imagined and longing to go back. It will be worth every penny you spend.

Our eight-year-old son found such focus and community and confidence while playing drums in his rock band experience. Rock band land was awesome and welcomed and supported him.

Rock Band Land is above and beyond the best camp for music creation and nutso bananas creativity with a staff of insanely talented, hilarious, and caring maniacs.

ERO is the best part of my week. I learn so much and improve, and while I have a lot to learn, the journey is always positive, upbeat, and funny. It's a fantastic community of people and Brian is hilarious and a true pedagogical genius.

RBL totally gets your kid, exactly as they are. We were worried about our daughter with SPD and some challenges with situations involving too much noise being able to enjoy a music camp. We love and adore our fun, creative, and amazing daughter, but sometimes her behavior can be a challenge for schools or summer camps that don’t know how to work with her. We reached out to Brian before the camp, and he went out of his way to make sure we knew that he would do everything he could to support her during the camp. Their fun and inclusive environment made her comfortable during the camp, and she had a blast. They are a great group of people, your child will thank you for enrolling them .

In my opinion, for busy parents, summer camps in San Francisco should be fun, engaging and safe for the campers, but also easy and convenient for the parents. This is not always the case! If the campers create magical memories that last long after camps ends, well, that’s a major bonus! Rock Band Land absolutely exceeded all expectations.

From the moment we arrived, the vibrant energy of Rock Band Land was palpable. The friendly staff welcomed us with open arms (and a super easy drop-off, pick-up system), and their passion for music and teaching was truly inspiring. It was evident right away that this was a place where creativity and imagination could flourish.
One of the highlights of Rock Band Land was the incredible array of activities that catered to a wide range of interests. Whether it was jamming out with instruments, composing original songs, or even getting the wiggles out with daily park expeditions, every day was positive for our kids. They were so excited to go back and said when the 2 weeks ended. The original song the group created continues to be performed around our house. Even the adults can be caught humming the chorus!
The camp instructors (a mix of ages but everyone seems experienced and super friendly) took the time to nurture individual strengths while fostering a sense of teamwork and collaboration. Watching our children (one on vocals and one on the drums) perform on the camp's stage during the grand finale concert was awesome!

As a parent, safety is always a top priority, and Rock Band Land exceeded expectations in this regard as well. The camp's building security, well-organized routines, well-maintained equipment, and attentive staff put my mind at ease, allowing my child to fully immerse themselves in the experience. It’s clear that Brian and the rest of the counselors understand how to navigate the pros and cons of the Castle’s local environment.

In summary, Rock Band Land is not just a camp; it's a journey where children’s rock and roll dreams come alive through the power of music and creativity. Our kids came back with a newfound passion for music, a boost in self-esteem, and a treasure trove of fun memories. As a parent, I wholeheartedly recommend Rock Band Land to anyone seeking an unforgettable and enriching summer experience for their child.

Note: I was warned by parents of former campers that the one downside was that the camp did not include much physical play or outdoor time. They must have amended the schedule bc the kids had plenty of outdoor time and came home tired each day. It was a nice balance. This camp truly rocks!

My children have attended RBL every summer since kindergarten and have always loved it. They enjoy learning new instruments, the creative process of writing a new song and the improv comedy. It is always children-led and all the teachers are so great with nurturing their ideas.

RBL is well run, creative and nicely honed in on what will inspire young people to build confidence and skills in creative expression. My son just completed his second summer camp and will be doing a super group this Fall after participating in an advanced band during the last school year. He has loved it and we in turn appreciate how much it has added to his personal development. This place and the crazy people who run it are definitely doing something right!

Our kids have been going to RBL summer camp for years, and they always have a blast! Not only do they get to engage in creating music and learning how to play instruments, but they also play fun games, spend time outdoors at nearby parks, and engage in all the wacky activities that the camp offers. The kids are excited to go to camp each morning, and come home exhausted (in a good way). Brian and the counselors are caring, creative, and inspiring mentors to the kids and they create an inclusive atmosphere that allows each kid to be who they are.

This was a great camp. Our son loved it. Truly creative and I hope we’ll do more RBL soon.

My daughter really enjoyed singing and drumming as well as the expressive opportunities of filming comedy and writing music. Brian and his counselors are very attuned to kids' needs and development. My daughter enjoyed Brian's comedy every day as well as the playful atmosphere.

My daughter Zula loves to sing and perform and is interested in learning how to play the guitar and piano. So when I discovered that this camp existed, it seemed like a perfect fit. I was absolutely right! Thank you for providing such an amazing opportunity. She had so much fun everyday. We loved watching her perform at the end of the week. She was definitely in her element. She wants to go back for a whole 2 week session next time and her little sister is excited to go when she turns 6!

This was my daughter's favorite camp last year and I'm so glad I signed her up again this year. The camp really brings our her creativity and confidence and exposes her to music, writing, and art in a super fun and collaborative way. The counselors are incredibly attentive and fun and we plan to sign up again next year.

Our son had a blast during this 2-week camp. The kids wrote and practiced a song, and they performed it for us at the end. It was spectacular! We were so thrilled to see him play the drums and have a blast.

At some point, he was concerned/worried because he didn't understand some of the lyrics of the song, and it made him upset and scared. I communicated it to Brian who is in charge of the camp and he had the whole thing resolved in no time! He talked with our son and they figured out what was upsetting him and resolved it. We were very impressed by the speed and quality of the intervention.

Now our son was to come bak to RBL for more!

The best thing you could ever do for your kiddo is to send them to RBL! Every day at pick up our daughter had a huge smile on her face. It is a non-stop kids paradise, where kids rule and their creativity is unleashed without judgments. How rare and special is that??? Even if your kid has no strong passion for music or music ability, they will have a blast. It is a wonderful, wacky, and inspiring place for our kids to escape the stress of the world around them.

My daughter loved RBL Summer Camp!! The teachers and CITs all have great energy. She had never had musical instruction outside of school and she learned a ton, had a lot of fun, and wants to do it again! Total hit!

Our son had the best time at Rock Band Land camp! He came home every day happy and excited. He loved experimenting with multiple instruments and loved the energy of the teachers!

We loved it! Our son could not stop sharing with his friends how much he loved Rock Band Land and that he played the drums. He thinks he's the coolest cat on the block. The vibe is very cool in this place, and it's most impressive that the kids play with the real instruments, not a modified kiddie version! The tech setup is also pretty impressive to connect the audio from the various rooms together. The performance at the end was very well organized. I'm so glad my son had a great time.

This is the only camp and extracurricular my kids joyfully go to without complaints and look forward to! It's so fun to see them perform and play different instruments.

The kids loved their time there. It’s worth mentioning though that the street it’s on currently has a visible unhoused population in case that’s important to anyone. The drop off and pick up were well managed so campers and parents didn’t have to park and walk up.

My twins loved this camp! It was a great creative outlet and they looked forward to going!

Our kid loved RBL, full stop. Our only complaint is that us olds weren't allowed to do it, too. The final UGLY BABY episode that they worked on is hilarious and I can totally understand why the kids had so much fun making it. Brian clearly cares about the kids and the program he has created beyond belief and we really appreciated how organized and communicative he and the whole staff are. Five stars, 10/10 would send our kiddo again.

Our daughter LOVES rock band land. The kids really get to be kids, she loves “rocking out” and trying different instruments, and all the staff is great.

Super-organized, and love their clear and careful continuing COVID protocols. My kid absolutely loved their two weeks with RBL, and still wants to watch Ugly Baby videos weeks later. A very special place with wonderful people who really care about kids and creativity.

We love rock band land! My child has sensory processing issues and can be overwhelmed in loud environments, RBL keeps her busy and feeling safe.

Our daughter loved participating in Rock Band Land's Pre-K program this past winter/spring through her preschool. She can be a bit slow to warm up to new settings, but she was really inspired by Rock Band Land. She loved experiencing the different instruments during class, and practicing the songs at home. Participating in Rock Band Land gave her so much confidence to try new things! Brian is amazing, and has created such a fun, unique program that sparks creativity!

Just amazing. My six year old twins loved it. Adventurous, inspiring, loads of fun, all of the above. Really amazing staff. Will definitely be going back.

Drop off/pickup was really easy. Friendly staff. But that was a LOT of money to pay to have the kids mostly play at a park all day.. thought there would be more music integration. To be fair it was the 2 day camp. Maybe through games, at the park there could have been more music theory even?

These folks are genius. True artists with a passion for igniting the same in your children. They create an organized approach to letting kids’ creativity loose and produce delightful results. It’s a blast.

I recently started drumming with Rock Band Land after watching my kid have piles of fun in classes there for years. These drum classes quickly became the highlight of my week. RBL is an amazing place for kids, and now growns, to rewire our brains through rhythm, delve into songs we love, meet wildly fun and creative people, laugh, make noise, and play our hearts out together. What’s not to love?

I don’t know what their secret sauce is, but RBL maintains a bonkers sense of humor while remaining enthusiastically focused on nurturing the campers. Our kid came out of their week more confident, mature, creative and willing to try new things. Also exhausted and happy. I wish I could go to RBL! (Pro tip: They have adult rock out classes.)

Rock Band Land is really a one of a kind opportunity to combine learning to play music with actively participating in the creative process. The staff is incredible and create an amazing space for kids.

One of the best camps my kids have attended. Brian and crew are extremely creative, funny, hard working and amazing at keeping kids entertained at the same time they teach them music and other artistic skills.

I have been going to Rock Band Land since I was 4 and have ALWAYS had a great time! The staff have never been mean but have good work ethic and Brain will not hesitate to tell us we will fail if in the rare occasion we aren't focusing. I could not be happier (unless someone let me drink the pickle brine) at Rock Band Land and I hope that I will be in Thorn for a long time. Rock Band Land has been an integral part of my kids' lives for the past 9 years. Brian and Marcus are very special dudes, and their brand of wild, weird, creative, energetic, positive and personal classes, camps and workshops are one-of-a-kind. Their influence has been fundamental to our family, is so valued, and we feel very lucky to have had RBL in our lives.

Best music camp ever. The Master Donkey, aka Brian as well as his super friendly staff know what they are doing running the show. My child's summer does not exist without going to RBL. They also provide in-service day camps catered to different schools and they have shuttle service for some schools.

RBL is unmatched in terms of the extraordinary quality of its programs, the stellar performance of its leadership and staff, and the richness of its musical and other creative offerings. Fundamentally, they understand kids. And somehow they have figured out how to dial in the seeming paradox of silliness and absurdity on the one hand, with professionalism and tight organization on the other hand.

I started reading the RBL newsletter when my son was 1 and I was like “are you kidding that this exists?” I waited the 4 years to enroll and now try not to miss a summer with RBL for either my son or daughter! They both have a blast, gain confidence, and love the creative goofy atmosphere. It has been awesome and there is talk that this year is going to be better;)

My 10 year olds favorite summer camp and after school activity. She will attend until she ages out. Not only do the kids have a blast but as a parent it’s easy to know what to expect and plan for because Brian (who runs RBL) is incredibly organized and communicative. Brian and the RBL staff create a positive and creative environment that brings out the best in all the kids.

If Rock Band Land were a hostel, my daughter would move in. All joking aside*, she's been attending classes in camps for 5 years and her musical chops have grown significantly. RBL has nurtured her musicality, creativity and tenacity. I can't say enough good things about what Brian and Marcus have created.

All joking aside is technically not possible at RBL. In addition to music, humor is part of their DNA.

My son has been attending RBL camps and events since Kindergarten and has loved every single one... even the online ones. Brian and the whole RBL crew sets the bar on fun. They have a great sense of humor (lusciously weird and wonderful) that really connects with the kids. And you can tell that they love to share their immense storytelling and musical talents with the kids. It's truly a unique experience for any child.

My kid wishes that RBL and her regular school would switch so she could be at RBL every day.

Elder Rock Out has been vital to my pandemic recovery. It's been crazy fun to learn to rock out with a bunch of other parents. The RBL crew create a safe space to unleash our inner rockers and escape from the daily grind.

Rock Band Land is a great program in that it teaches kids two very important things:
1) that they can be creators just like the musicians, film makers and animators they see on the internet and TV.
2) How to create in a group by learning to listen to the opinions of others, reaching a common decision and working to make it come true together.

Just those two points are very important in my opinion, but the kids also get to have their interest piqued in music and maybe learning an instrument (RBL also offers formal music training), and in the process they also learn skills such as basic recording, animation, editing. The staff is organized, responsive, gentle and you can clearly see they really love what they do, which the kids also pick up on.

By now you've probably got the idea that RBL is so much more than a Band Camp and that is why both my daughters attend RBL continuously and I highly recommend it to all our friends with kids.

Rock Band Land is back and as good as ever with their zany, creative program. This is not a camp run by amateurs or college kids, Brian and his team are pros and they are deeply vested in creating a great experience. Music, storytelling, video recording, instruments, rocking out, and social interaction are all rolled together in well choreographed days orchestrated by high functioning adults.

Couldn't recommend this enough.

This camp was the best week my kids have had in months. They were engaged by the wonderful teachers; they played music, made art, ran around the house hunting for props. Also--they had no idea fun could be had in virtual learning until The Donkey Camp Show—now they have proof! They're already enrolled in another session in July.

My daughter participated in the online Donkey Camp Show and had a great time - they really did a fantastic job keeping the kids engaged and entertained and I'm still amazed at how they were able to develop the song and and of the various instrumental and vocal parts over Zoom! Zoom should be using them as an example of how to make the most of the technology! We also learned a lot using the website to record her parts - it was all such a great mix of fun and learning.

Great camp, my daughters really enjoyed it. Would recommend it.

Our daughter was excited to learn to play the bass this year. Now that she's 9 she decided to branch out from her usual desire to be a vocalist in musical ensembles. It was a great first experience on the bass for her. We're so glad she had this opportunity. She also had a great time at camp and really enjoyed the goofy antics and, in particular, the teachers and Brian.

My son loves Rock Band Land. He is 5 and he will be going every summer.

Another great week at the Castle! My 8 year old loves this camp. He loves to be goofy and creative and this week is his favorite of the summer. I’m not sure how they have the energy to do this all summer with such enthusiasm and joy. If you can get a week, take it!

Rock Band Land is AMAZING! It’s my daughter’s favorite camp. They have tons of fun and the great experience of performing a very creative song that they’ve worked on together.

I highly recommend this camp and I know we will do it again next year. My 9 and 11 year old girls loved this camp! Neither had played an instrument and in 3 days they were playing their choice of instrument with a band of other kids. It was creative, fun and the facilitators are awesome. I really enjoyed the end of week performance, it was so Impressive. It’s sparked a love of music in the girls and we look forward to taking some music classes at RBL in the fall.

What a unique experience for kids! This place is unapologetically not your normal "camp" for kids. They celebrate being weird, creative, having fun and building core musical skills. My daughter is drawn to this camp and consistently tells me it's her favorite across all the ones we have sent her to (even beats all-day soccer camp shockingly!). Aside from the fun she has, she's also developed real musical skills and as we've now discovered actually has some rhythmic drummer talent! Who knew? Love RBL - give it a try.

My daughter is in love with RBL. It’s wild, it’s melt your face off good times and it’s, it’s...organized? Yes! They run a tight pirate ship at RBL and it’s one of the most well run and organized after school activities we have participated in. If your kid loves to be silly and creative and perform, RBL is for you!

Your kid will love Rock Band Land, trust me. This is the program for you if, try as you might, you just aren't a soccer mom. The kids have a great time, the music is good (and funny!), the "swag" is hilarious, the shows are at an actual club, and after every session we get a run-down of the hi-jinx. Cannot recommend more highly.

This is the first camp my son ASKED to attend after walking past many times and meeting them out at the park. Other camps he felt overwhelmed with or forgotten but this was the right fit for him. This is the 3rd summer my kids have done RockBandLand, they love it. My youngest daughter was struggling with the lyrics to the song the kids wrote in class. I asked if the instructors if they could help her, and they did, she was much happier the next day. They really understand kids at this camp and very willing to help to assure all the kids have a good time.

Our 9 yr old daughter and 5 yr old son loved every moment and sing the songs they created for weeks after RBL camp. Six stars!

Brian, Marcus, and the entire RockBandLand team continue to provide one of the (the?!) best camp experiences in San Francisco. They do an amazing job of creating a space for kids to learn while having ridiculous amounts of fun.

I can not say enough good things about Rock Band Land. Brian and Marcus, who run the program, are just wonderful humans. They are the heart of the program, which is why other children's "rock" programs do not compare. They have an amazing rapport with the children, and I've yet to encounter an activity program that fosters child directed creativity, collaboration, and appreciating your unique you the way they do. My son is 8 and has been participating since he was in preschool. It is his all time favorite activity and he comes out of each session smiling with enthusiasm. So much so, that one day he was concerned about what he will do when he is 18 and can no longer do it (hopefully they'll be hiring!) The other piece they do better than most, is communication with parents. I love getting emails after each class explaining what they've worked on seeing pictures of my child having a blast. I've been an educator for 25 years and have high expectations that are often not met with after school activities. I have recommended this program to many friends who have become as addicted as we are. Rock Band Lands Rocks. It's that simple.

Our kids’ creativity and confidence have bloomed at Rock Band Land, where the founders (Brian and Marcus) and teachers (like Taylor and Taylor) both encourage and positively challenge them. They’ve learned to play instruments (one is on drums, the other on keyboards) along the way, which is super cool of course, but even in their first performances at the Verdi Club when they were 4 and 8, just watching them make eye contact with the audience while holding their mics at an “eagle beak” angle on that big stage was incredible. Best money spent!! All the teachers at Rock Band Land are off the charts!!!! We’re 4 sessions in,, and my daughter can’t get enough. It’s truly amazing how they teach the kids to sing and play instruments.

Rock Band Land is incredible. My little human would rather spend time with these folks than do literally anything else. As soon as they start a boarding school, we are in year-round.

Our boy (9) and girl (6) LOVED this camp. They were reluctant to attend at first but warmed up right away at drop off with all the interesting instruments and other activities available, plus the warm, welcoming staff. After camp they both reported an awesome time!

The teachers are passionate. And cool. And funny. And talented. And they share 100% of all of that with the kids in their class. My son loves Rock Band Land, and has a newly acquired power stance to prove it.

Our daughter loves RBL. We've done classes there through our (former) preschool, holiday camps and this summer we have her signed up for a full week of day camps! Great staff. Fun group.

Rock Band Land is amazing. It really is like no other class/camp out there! Brian and Marcus (and the rest of their crew) have a magical way with kids, and my son is hooked! I love that there's a place for him to be as creative and silly as he wants to, and I also love that RBL is so accommodating of parents (love that there's van pickup after school for his class and that they are so communicative with great photos and recaps of every class). I'm just jealous that I can't go!

Rock Band Land is fantastic fun! The kids get a chance to try different aspects of being in a band. Don't want to play guitar this time - try drums, vocals, lighting. Our son always comes home tired and happy the true signs of a successful camp. Thank you RBL

Our son just finished his fifth session with Rock Band Land and in his words "I don't like Rock Band Land....I love it!" It's a crazy, fun time for the kids that allows them to go through the process of forming a band, creating a song, and then recording and performing it. Our son really enjoys the storytelling behind the songs. The musical instruction is very rudimentary. The kids play a variety of instruments, but the playing is very basic (simple drum beats, open string bass/guitar parts, color coded keyboards). "The Big Show" at the end of each session is a great chance for the kids to get on stage in front of an audience and have fun performing.

This one of our family's favorite SF camps. Even after moving from the City, we arranged it so we could send our son back for a week during the summers.

RBL provides an amazing combination of narrative creativity, musical listenability and kid relatability. Marcus and Brian are able to connect with children and make music and write emails to parents that elicit a smile instead of a cringe. Highly recommend both the summer camps and after-school sessions.

RBL is perhaps the best kid program out there, and Brian and Marcus are the hardest working guys in San Francisco. I've watched my two boys and countless other kids find their personal groove and ways to contribute to the collective experience. They and their incredible staff find and nurture the best possible rocker in each and every kid, and they work hard to build a beautiful community of rocker families. You cannot do better than Rock Band Land.

Rockbandland gave my son an incredible opportunity to be creative and challenge himself all while having a great time. The staff are fantastically tuned into kids and of course music and if it weren’t for my kid getting older I’d want to send him there forever.

Rock Band Land is my 7 year old’s favorite camp! RBL’s wacky brand of creativity delights the campers and is the perfect antidote to kids’ structured schooldays. My son fell in love with the electric bass because of RBL and is now taking private lessons. Now that there is a wonderful new park across the street, RBL camp days are even more fun.

My kids have been doing RBL for years and they love it. The RBL guys are truly unafraid of the awesome and creative ideas inside every kid's brain. They're not fazed by the weird, the sad, the unexpected, so kids really get to express and roll with their ideas. Really a neat place.

Our daughter has been going to Rock Band Land for almost 3 years now. She has attended multiple summer camps as well as the 6-week sessions throughout the school year since kindergarten. The performances at the end of the 6-week cycle, The Big Show, is so much fun and a really impressive way to see your kiddo grow and develop with the other Rockers. Brian and Marcus, as well as all the other teachers at Rock Band Land, have helped our daughter become a superstar drummer and, most importantly, a confident, strong, creative, and easygoing 8-year-old girl. We could not be more pleased with the ways she has benefited from this truly rockin' program. Rock Band Land is the most amazing and fun place for kids to be kids and learn to rockers at the same time.

Rock Band Land is a gift, a discovery, a miracle. There are other places your little ones can learn about music with a dose of rock and roll attitude. But there are none that are as friendly, welcoming, inclusive, developmentally appropriate, safe, and just plain fun as Rock Band Land. It's absolutely awesome, often wacky, fun but it's built on a surprisingly sophisticated pedagogical foundation.

"I love that we get to create our own songs and record them and share them! Are there any other camps that do that? I don't think so!" -- dictated to me by my son.

Highly recommend RLB for your kid. We did a weekday, after school class that our 7 year old loved. The classes are fun and the performance at the end is great.

We are completely obsessed with Rock Band Land. The team of teacher-unicorns running the show here is INCREDIBLE. They master a perfect balance of being insanely professional, gentle and tuned in to the individual kiddos, rambunctious, loud, hilarious and brilliant, all while teaching kids how to express themselves with music. Rock Band Land has been an integral part of both of our children's upbringing over the last 5 years. It is a unique and special opportunity to learn music, creativity and for our kids to "just be themselves" and be quirky. Since the kids also get a chance to perform their original songs, our kids have grown tremendously in their ability to talk in front of groups, interact with people and eliminate stage fright. I cannot say enough about the environment, the learning and the experience that Brian, Marcus and their team bring to every child that attends Rock Band Land.

Crazy, wacky awesome camp that my six year old daughter just adores (her #1 out of school activity)! The songs the kids create with RBL can get a little odd, but seems to be all in good fun for the kids and the end of session concerts are hilarious. Highly recommend this afterschool program and have enrolled my daughter in summer camp sessions with some of her first grade classmates as well.

I know, rock stuff for kids could be so twee...but Marcus, Brian, and all their hyper talented gang of elves are THE REAL DEAL. I worked with real, grown up bands for years, the amount that these guys achieve, the fun had, and the actual amazing experience of writing and performing are all over the top and I wish I could have done this when I was a tot, it probably would have saved me all kinds of bother later in life. HIGHLY RECCOMEND.

RBL is the most fun, dynamic, different way to teach rock music, movement, group skills, people skill, free your imagination, boost your self-esteem and just be accepted for who you are! The BEST thing that have ever happened to my child and our family. We admire the instructor's dedication, patience, creativity! it is so inspiring!. We simply love it!

RBL is an insanely awesome amalgamation of learning, creating, exploring & goofing. The program is remarkable on all levels with its carefully disciplined instruction, sprinkled in with essential chaos - and I mean that with highest praise. You're lucky if you get a spot in this program - covet it.

My child loves this camp and would go to it multiple weeks every summer if it were possible. At first he was hesitant about performing, but Brian and Marcus worked their magic and by his second session, he was volunteering to perform for more shows! My child also remembers to and insists on practicing the song he and his campmates have composed with Brian and Marcus every day during the camp week, and then plays it over and over, even years later. Overall, I can't recommend this camp highly enough for those at all stages of musical development.

One of the absolute best experiences for our kiddo. Brian and team are sneaky child development specialists disguised as fun-loving cool big kids, so our son loves to be a part of things. He's learned the basics of 2 instruments, overcome fear of performing, and had positive peer connections that exceed his other activities... can't recommend more highly.

Super fun way for kids of all kinds to be creative and get the lead out. No musical training required, just an imagination, and your kids will be on stage performing a live rock show in about 6 weeks.

Rock Band Land is hands down my kids most favoritest camp in all the land. We've dabbled in other camps, tried sports camps, art camps, surf camps, theater camps, but this is the only one that my kids want to repeat every single year, for four years now, without fail. Brian and Marcus and the RBL crew have such a contagious sense of fun and zaniness while also providing all sorts of awesome musical and creative inspiration and education. Thanks RBL!

The one summer camp that my daughter begs to go back to. We love Brian and Marcus and all the amazingly cool chaos they somehow manage to control and shape. They are both great with kids and the magic they make happen is truly inspiring.

My daughter lives for Thursdays at Rock Band Land. These guys are both highly creative and highly organized. They run a tight ship. I don't know how it all happens but they make hard work look like so much fun.

Rock Band Land is amazing! Our daughter has more fun with these guys than anywhere and it's the only after school class she'll do even if a friend isn't enrolled. They have created an amazing little creative community where kids can be wacky and totally comfortable expressing themselves. Highly recommend!!!!

It is no small feat raising a child in San Francisco. As you watch people in your co-hort flee to areas where parking spaces are larger, class room sizes are smaller and crayons at restaurants are a given, you stand true to your reasons to stay. You shuttle your kiddo around to the amazing and diverse cultural experiences that you find entertaining and satisfying yourself and you give yourself the proverbial pat on the parental back. THEN, through a crazy and unpredictable chain of events, you find for your child: Rock Band Land. And as your child returns for session two, three, four and as you participate in the RBL community events, and you see subtle but dramatic changes not only in your own child, but in other children who participate that you don’t even know, you slowly realize that now, you will never leave SF. You realize that RBL is a source of hope for the future world, straight up fun for your child and excellent music that you listen to in your car even without your child around.
At RBL, through their school year or summer camp sessions, your child will be a part of a rock band that creates a story line, which is then set to music and then learns to play the song on their chosen instrument, culminating in a recording session and a full rock performance. With a light show! T-shirts! Wine! Gourmet food! It is by far, the most fun to be had by both kids and parents alike in all of SF.
It is magical to watch the blossoming of the resultant musical and story writing skills with this approach to learning. It may manifest in the time your young daughter does a complicated drum beat on the dinner table or writes a story for a school assignment and ends up with a poignant piece about the time she got stitches.
And finally, there are the times when there are bumps in the road for your child and you find yourself in need of parental consultation. The of teachers of RBL are a deep source of wisdom in understanding the intricacies or growing up and know how to respond to your child’s needs with grace and ease.
In short, words can not explain my deep gratitude for Rock Band Land. It goes so far beyond the concept of a music school, as it alone is an anchor to stay rooted in our City.

My daughter is officially hooked! The teachers are so amazing and put a huge amount of effort into making sure the experience is 100% fun.

My son loved it. There's something empowering in the way Rock Band Land introduces various musical instruments and tools in a studio setting. My son nailed the 'power stance' for a singer, and recalls having the most fun with the drums. We've already re-upped for the next session. The only bit of headache is parking nearby, but that's little price to pay for the fun he has.

Hands down the best program in town! My daughter had a blast and made some lifelong memories. We were blown away by what they accomplished in a week! I couldn't recommend this camp more. Brian clearly has the musical chops but is also super skilled with the kid stuff too, which is such a gift. He knew every child and every parent's name on the first day. The place runs like a well-oiled machine, and the kids are constantly engaged and entertained. Rock on Rock Band Land, we'll be back for more!

Rock Band Land is an amazing extravaganza of an experience. Marcus and Brain are professional, fun, talented, fair, creative, and are VERY good with kids. My son LOVES going to Rock Band Land and we are going to do it again!!!!

Amazing. If my kid had a choice, every day would be "Rock Band Land Day." In a short amount of time her confidence in front of an audience improved and she started to learn the technical aspects of performing and producing a show. I like that they focused on one and only one song; it was a complicated song, but they learned the importance of sticking with something and working toward the best performance instead of jumping around with a bunch of mediocre songs. And pickles; I hate that every kid activity nowadays seems to necessitate a snack, but my kid could eat pickles until the cows come home for all I care. :)

So creative and cool. Great energy and enthusiasm from people working there. Great communication, as well.

Rock Band Land is a special force in my daughter's life. The excitement she feels when it's time for class and the confidence she comes out of each class with is unmatchable. She regularly tells us that Rock Band Land is like home and that she wants to be in it forever. There is a significant difference in her disposition when she is involved in Rock Band Land compared to other classes. The teachers, both Brian and Marcus, are amazing with the kids. They listen to them, support them, and make each one feel as though they are a huge part of what makes RBL a success (which is totally true!). Everyone's voice is important in Rock Band Land, as is believing in yourself and your ideas. RBL is a wise owl filled with invaluable life lessons that each rocker can use and reuse for the rest of their life. In a nutshell - Rock Band Land...rocks!
