I highly recommend this class for others. The classes were very well structured and my child enjoyed them very much. He also participated throughout the entire session.

The teacher offered games that made him feel comfortable and confident. My son typically feels uncomfortable talking in front of others. He was very upset that I signed him up for the class, but he loved it after the first session!

Both my kid and I feel that confident public speaking classes are too easy. My son will go to second grade after the summer. Not sure if he was put together with kids who will enter kindergarten or not. They spent much time watching preschool level videos, answering some very simple questions, and listening the teacher talking very basic things.

Dear M Z,

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that our classes felt too easy. The 6-8 year old class is meant to be more of an introductory level public speaking class, focusing on giving students opportunities to build on their confidence as speakers. The next age level is the 8-10 year old class, and we do purposely overlap the 8 year old age so parents can choose either the younger or older age group so we can transfer a student to the right fit.

Thank you for giving Communication Academy a chance and for providing your feedback. We take every comment seriously in hopes of continually bettering our programs.

Best,

Melinda from Communication Academy

My daughter is 8-yr-old, going to 3rd grade. She's not a very eloquent speaker and I hope to improve her communication skills. Should I sign her up for Grd 1-3 group or Grd 3-6 group? Thanks. (Confident Public Speaking (Online LIVE)) -

Thank you for your question and interest in our programs. Typically for an 8 year old who is newer to public speaking or on the more shy side, we would recommend the Grade 1-3 class, however, we do purposely schedule our classes so both age groups (Grade 1-3 & Grade 3-5) are happening simultaneously. This allows for flexibility in the case that the Grade 1-3 is too easy for your child, she can join the Grade 3-5 class instead. Additionally, the Grade 3-5 class delves a bit deeper into the public speaking skills while the Grade 1-3 class focuses more on building student confidence and comfort in front of an audience, so can be more of an introductory level class. Hope that helps clarify! -
What is the Student-Teacher ratio for confident public speaking (online Live)? (Confident Public Speaking (Online LIVE)) -

Jul 06, 2020 - Communication Academy
Thank you for your question. For all of our classes, our student-teacher ratio is 12:1, with the very rare occasions where we might allow a 13th student. Our instructors are all professionals or teachers in their field or have had extensive experience with the subject area(s) they teach. Additionally, we also have at least one other Communication Academy admin staff member in the virtual meeting room as well to provide additional support either with tech support or "classroom" support as well too. -
My son is 6 years old. He is going to 1st. Grade. The program is going to help my son with speech and interactive with the other kids? (Confident Public Speaking (Online LIVE))

Thank you for asking the question. Every week we rotate topics: speech camp, creative interpretation camp, and an improv camp. All our classes are interactive with the instructor and other kids in the class. Our instructor for this age group also have the kids read and write to help build up their public speaking skills. -
