Parents - do your kid a favor and get him/her start on fencing with AFM rather than boring martial arts or Tae Kwon Do. Your kid is going to thank you for the coolest sports activity ever.
My son picked up fencing about a year ago and, my gosh, he loves it. Our whole family loves the club and i would like to share why:
First of all, there is welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all. Staff will go above and beyond to answer all your questions, to help with schedule, to accommodate any changes, to resolve any issue, to walk you through any details regarding competitions, ... you name it. If you left a message it will be returned, if you sent an email it will be answered, so you definitely feel taken care of.
Second - coaches: decorated, experienced and highly qualified fencers themself, they work hard during the classes to keep kids engaged with fun games, but emphasize precise technique at an early age.
And the last, but maybe the most important for me - there's something more that kids are gaining from AFM than just how to hit a moving target with meticulous speed and accuracy. Life is much bigger than sport! AFM is helping kids to learn to love life and fencing instead of medals. The coaches are great role models for the older fencers, whom in turn are exemplary for the younger ones. Kids learn how to support, respect, encourage others, how to cherish the friendship, and how to build positive relationships with opponents.
So AFM has become like our second home.
I trust my kid to these people.
