Academy of Fencing Masters

We believe in training that combines intensive workouts and exercise with the incredible joy of learning and fun of the game. Our camps and classes engage and motivate the young people so that time flies and keeps them going on. Beginners will be amazed at how much they learned and improved their conditioning and fencing skills.

Beginning fencers will acquire basic fencing skills, including foot work, blade work, and distance control, they will fence with electrical equipment and understand fencing etiquette, rules and sportsmanship.

Experienced fencers will train intensively under the guidance of world class coaches. They will improve their physical condition; strengthen fencing technique and hone tactical skills in the Bay Area’s newest facility.

Our Staff

As well as we are really honored to build a tremendous coaching team out of all world class and internationally recognizes coaches. It’s wonderful to see fencers learning and growing under the tutelage of these experienced and supportive coaches. AFM coaches have all kind of medals under their belt, they trained national teams, helped fencers to qualify to Olympics, they all have at least Master Degree in Sport or even PHD and they all are true fencing masters. They are inspiration for all of their students and other coaches. Part of the huge success of our training programs is our coaches great experience in tailoring training to specific level of skills and needs. Their short biographies are listed on our website. AFM is extremely proud to have on board such special coaching team!

Honors & Awards

Academy of Fencing Masters (AFM) is a fast growing fencing club located in Campbell and Sunnyvale, California, and club that develops all level of fencers from beginners to national level athletes.

This year we also saw our high school students go on to make the All-Academic USFA Team. These are some amazing results for both their academic success as well as their fencing ability. AFM ranked #7 in the nation for the highest number of highs school students to make the team.Our club received a Congressional Recognition, straight from Washington D.C. It is a high honor that we are so humbled to have received. We’re so honored to have been recognized by the United States Congress for this!

This year saw a dramatic expansion at AFM. We opened our new location in Sunnyvale, one of the biggest in the USA with 24 full length strips and space for rest and training. We are proud of our athletes who represent themselves and AFM at the national and international competitions. Our athletes constantly win and medal at national level tournaments, such as North America Cup and USA Fencing Championship.

I enrolled my son in Sep’2 with every passing week of private lessons and group classes, I can sense an increasing sense of love for the sport in him. The Coaches are great and give individual attention, the Facility is neat and clean and large enough that it never appears cluttered.
Overall the quality of coaches, facilities and activities to engages are profound at AFM.

I am beyond thrilled to share my experience with the Academy of Fencing Masters (AFM) and wholeheartedly recommend them as one of the Best Kids Programs in Sports for 2022-2023. My daughter has been attending their fencing camps, lessons, and classes, and I cannot emphasize enough how much she has enjoyed and benefited from her time there.

From day one, the knowledgeable and dedicated coaching staff at AFM has provided exceptional instruction in the art of fencing. They truly understand how to cater to children's unique needs and learning styles, making each class engaging and enjoyable. My daughter has gained a deep appreciation for the sport while also improving her physical fitness, coordination, and mental focus.

The academy offers a wide range of programs for children of all ages and skill levels. My daughter has participated in their fencing camps, which not only taught her valuable fencing skills but also allowed her to forge new friendships with fellow young fencers.
