My 8 yo daughter enjoyed this camp! It was a nice introduction to artistic swimming. Only thing is I wish they offered a full day option. Half day camp is tough for parents working outside the home.

My son absolutely loved this camp - so much so that he wants to join the SF Merionettes team in the fall. (And yes, it is absolutely fine for boys to participate in artistic swimming. :)

The coaching is superb, the management of the club is on par with other clubs. The attention to the swimmers is wonderful and we, as a family, have no complaints. I don't know anyone who has had complaints other than the parent who posted the negative one (Marc P.). This is the only club in the area for synchronized swimming, and it has a great reputation with other clubs, swimmers, etc. both locally, nationally, and internationally.

The review from Marc P. is utterly untrue. This parent was the problem and constantly stalked the club's board, members, parents, etc. with harassing e-mails, phone calls, texts regarding issues that the club had no control over (i.e pool temperature, pool water quality). These issues were investigated by the SF Park & Rec by reviewing the daily records that are maintained and his complaints were found to be baseless. The pool water is fine, the temperature is fine. The club bent over backwards to make this parent and his child happy - gave him reduced member fees, took on car poling for his child, etc., and he repaid their kindness with harassment and abuse.

Please do not listen to this one, bad apple. My daughter has gained confidence, happiness, fitness, and a new sense of self from her time at SFM, and my little daughter cannot wait to join. Certainly their feelings about their club weigh significantly more than the ramblings of a disgruntled parent who, by the way, tried to threaten his way back into the club for weeks and filed various merit-less and unjustified complaints against the club, its board, and its coaches.

Our daughter has enjoyed swimming with her team-mates, and coaches now for over 4+ years. Children learn improved swimming strokes, teamwork, acrobatics, and synchronization. They get to have experienced coaches who care about the kids, and work way more than any side-job would ever require and this is due to their love of the sport, they even have top competitive coaches teaching them the correct forms, and have in the last years really ramped up the routines and outreach due to the efforts of all the coaches and parents. The team has significantly improved as an organization in the last years, and as a community organization where volunteers and individual efforts are essential to a local swim club. We compete with other bay area teams, and have an excellent SFM Board of directors who do everything we can to assist the team as a whole. We hope you will come and visit during the summer swim at Balboa Pool in 2015 and join the San Francisco Merionettes Synchronized Swim Team. We hope to also see a new renovated Balboa Pool in the near future!

My two daughters swam for San Francisco Merionettes for many years. They are strong swimmers, and enjoyed the community of great kids and supportive coaches. This is an untraditional sport, and perfect for kids who enjoy dance, swim, gymnastics.
