Farm Camp is an opportunity for kids to explore the farm and studio spaces in a guided and lightly structured way with their community. We learn to treat all animals, friends and farm property with kindness and respect. Seasonal themes and prompts are provided. Be ready to join in on farm and garden lessons, helping to take care of the property, outdoor games and social time.
Please note, Fridays are a half day (9:30am - 12:30pm).
Week 1: June 30-July 4 - Summer Garden Kick-Off Camp Time to come kick off summer here at the farm! Join us in the early summer garden harvesting greens, whipping up salad dressing concoctions, helping our pullets transition into the big coop with the other hens, creating "chicken chunnels" in the garden to help our birds navigate the garden safely, prune invasives for the goats to happily munch on and all of the other wacky, wild farm fun with friends new and old.
Week 2: July 7-11 - Garden Potions, Crafting Magic and Forest Fairy Fun Come find us in our mud kitchen whipping up batch after batch of the most disgustingly delectable mud pies; create whimsical fairy and forest creature habitats in the studio and alongside the stream; learn the art of tarot cards and make your own; concoct and sip home made garden teas while you enjoy the warm July days on the farm.
Week 3: July 14-18 - Friendly Farm Dabbler Week This week is utter perfection for the kid who simply wants a bit of all that the farm has to offer. Spend a bit of time setting up the farm stand, build & race home made cork boats by the stream, catch a chicken to cuddle, play some pickleball with Calvin & the fun-loving camp counselor crew, set up an herbal-infused lemonade stand in the garden and swing in the hammocks with friends in the Douglass Fir stand.
Week 4: July 21-25 - Farm to Table: Foodie Week on the Farm Join us in the garden, coop, farm stand and studio as we explore all of the beautiful things we can create for our farm to table snacks and luncheon each day. This week will be centered around summer garden harvest, setting up our sweet farm stand with our garden bounty, setting a beautiful garden table, curating a healthy inspired meal, crafting menus & recipe books and plenty of summer farm fun!
Week 5: July 28-Aug 1: Farm Creatures and Beyond Chickens, goats, bees, reptiles and more! This week will focus on our sweet farm animals and host some old scaly friends from Whidbey Island as we welcome the Reptile Lady back to the farm. Imagine a week chock full of chicken wrangling and snuggling, goat petting and feeding, bee hive inspections and then top it all off with a giant tortoise lumbering around the garden and a python draped lovingly around your kid’s neck.
Week 6: Aug 25-Aug 28: Double Creature Feature If you loved the idea of your child attending the Week 5 camp and you were disappointed that this was a one-time offering - you are in luck! Here it is again! We will repeat that fabulous week of Farm Creatures and Beyond just before we all go back to school! What a way to wrap up summer here on the farm.
