6 Points Sports Academy

LOCATED IN ASHEVILLE, NC

Founded in 2010 6 Points was the nation's first Jewish Sports Camp. We welcome campers who are currently in 3rd to 11th grade.

6 Points Sci-Tech Academy

LOCATED OUTSIDE OF BOSTON, MA

Campers currently in 3rd to 11th grade who love all things science and technology can learn from the best at a one of a kind summer camp!

DIVE INTO DISCOVERY WITH OUR HANDS-ON STEM WORKSHOPS!

Campers grades 3-9 can choose to focus on any of the following: Robotics, Game Design, Programming & Coding: Javascript, Digital Film Production, Biochemistry, Cryptology, Digital Art Lab: Graphic Design, Botanical Sciences, and Behavioral Sciences. Not to mention all the electives campers will get to choose from! We also have a STEM Leadership program for teens in grades 10 and 11 and a one-week Taste of Camp program for 3rd and 4th graders!

At 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy, our staff members create and use incredible curricula, created in partnership with education experts, to guide campers in bringing to life the questions that capture their imaginations. 6 Points Creative Arts Academy

LOCATED OUTSIDE PHILADELPHIA, PA

Spend your summer with passionate Jewish artists! We welcome creative campers entering 3rd grade (for our taste of camp program) through 12th grade.

FOCUS ON WHAT YOU LOVE!

Campers choose an arts major to focus their attention on. Depending on their current grade, options include: Contemporary Theatre, Creative Writing, Dance, Musical Theatre, Instrumental Music Ensemble, Photography, Songleading, Vocal Music Ensemble, and Visual Arts.

CREATE. CONNECT. CELEBRATE

At 6 Points Creative Arts Academy campers build skills with professionals from the field and explore new artistic disciplines in a safe, welcoming, Jewish environment. Through the integration of The Arts and Judaism campers come together to create, connect, and celebrate!

Our Staff

Jayme Dale Mallindine (she/her) - Director, Sci-Tech

Jayme has spent her career and education poking at the intersections between technology and the community. Before coming to the URJ, Jayme was, at various points, the education coordinator for Temple Beth Shalom, a Reform congregation in Austin, TX, an afterschool program coordinator and summer camp director at Rhode Island for Community & Justice, a high school teacher for the JCC of Greater Rhode Island, an ethnographer studying religious communities who used video games as part of their religious practice, and a site lead for Girls Make Games and Girls Who Code, summer camps that teach middle school and high school girls video game design and computer programming.


Rabbi Dan Medwin, MAJE (he/him) - Co-Director, Sci-Tech

Before becoming one of the directors of camp, Rabbi Dan Medwin worked at the Central Conference of American Rabbis for over a decade as the Director of Digital Media.  This position involved creating digital liturgy, such as Visual T’filah, apps, and ebooks, as well as providing general technology and media guidance for other Reform rabbis and the broader Reform Movement.  

A graduate of Brandeis University (2001) with a double major in Sociology and Near Eastern and Judaic Studies, he continued his studies at Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion (on the LA campus) for rabbinical ordination (2010) and a Masters of Jewish Education.


Jaclyn Gordon (she/her) - Director, Sports

Jackie worked for Baltimore County Public Schools as a Physical Educator, Department Chair, Athletic Advisor, and coach for over twenty years. In her role as Department Chair, she improved, created, and managed teams of people, multiple facilities, and a myriad of curricular programs.  She successfully coached the Franklin High School girls’ lacrosse team and created community amongst her players and developed a winning team. Jackie is known as one of the most successful Middle School Athletic Directors in Baltimore. In addition to Jackie’s experience working in a school setting she has also worked with Israel Lacrosse. 


Jay Rapoport, RJE (he/him) - Director, Creative Arts Academy

Jay is a trained educator as well as a musician, filmmaker, writer, and photographer, and he is thrilled to support a summer community for young creative people to pursue their artistic passions. Jay previously served as the Director of Lifelong Learning at Temple Sholom of Chicago since 2014, and prior to that as the Youth Educator at Congregation Rodeph Sholom in New York City and as Camp Director at Temple Rodef Shalom in Falls Church, Virginia. He earned his Master’s Degree in Religious Education (MARE) from Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in New York City and a B.A. in Elementary Education and Music from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
