About
Ukulele Jake

Ukulele lessons for any level of musical understanding. Our ukulele lessons will be adapted to the student's interests. This means learning the songs and styles that are suited to your particular taste! In addition to playing awesome tunes on the uke, they will get a sound musical education. 

We will learn: music theory, arpeggios, musical notation, and scales for the ukulele at your own pace and comfort level. I also offer the use of recording equipment. I believe the world needs more people to make music unselfishly just for the love of it and would love to be involved in your learning!

Our Staff

As a teacher and Founder of the Ukulele School of New York City, I have taught ukulele for the last six years. My teaching model illustrates how you can learn complex music theory seemingly accidentally when your vision and goals as a musician are observed and made priority one. 

In my career, I have written jingles for top American brands, toured throughout the United States and Europe, and fostered many ukulele players of varying age. Currently, I lead the Ukulele Orchestra of NYC as an arranger and performer.

And most of all, I would love to work with you on the ukulele!

Wow Jake is amazing! My 12 year old daughter has been taking lessons from Jake for two months and her progress and excitement is amazing. Jake is really passionate patient and keeps things really fun and interesting for her. He is a special teacher with a focus on this unique instrument.

Jake is a great human being and an amazing teacher. My 8 year old daughter has been studying with him for about 7 months now and her progress has been great. She’s changing chords fluently, strumming confidently, singing and playing at the same time, and performed solo at Jake’s annual recital in Prospect Park. Above all she is having fun and being creative. She looks forward to her lessons and her time within Jake. He has an incredible ability to connect with kids and adults alike. He’s the best.
