Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation
Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation (TMPF), based in Reno, Nevada, is an incorporated, nonprofit organization founded in 2012 by members of the community concerned about the challenges facing our parks. TMPF strives to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of the Truckee Meadows by ensuring the long-term sustainability and improvement of our parks.
With your help, we support parks in the following ways: Through the Healthy Parks Healthy People: Truckee Meadows initiative, we offer park-based educational and recreational programs designed to increase community-wide awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of our parks. Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation partners with community members, municipal agencies, and local businesses to get work done in our parks.
Through our outreach and public awareness campaign we help inform the public on the successes and challenges park managers face, and provide a forum for park users to voice their concerns and aggregate advocacy power.
Founded in 2012
Our Staff
TMPF staff educators are AmeriCorps Vista Members, all with a college degree or working toward one. Each educator was selected from a large pool of applicants and brings unique and wonderful skills to the camp. They are all First Aid & CPR certified and are integral in planning and implementing the camp's educational program.
