About
The Los Angeles Music and Arts Academy

To The Los Angeles Music and Arts Academy, the absolute best in private, in-home and virtual music lessons. Offering, Piano, Voice, and Guitar, at LAMAA we believe in music and the arts.

At Los Angeles Music and Arts Academy, we strive to give you the best possible experience in music education.  We offer top level instructors, who come with degrees from top music schools, professional performing experience, and a passion for teaching.  Unlike many other music instruction services, we make sure our students start with a good foundation in music, including ear training and note reading.  This whole process is integrated within each lessons, and is fun, exciting, and extremely rewarding.

We believe in a custom approach to teaching, and know that there is no "cookie cutter" method to learning music. We are aware that some students learn certain concepts faster than others, so we work with you to bring you to most optimum level of instruction possible.  With this in mind, our instructors don't use one method vs. another, but rather utilize all methods and bring their own professional background to teach each student at their own pace.  In addition we offer a specially customized program for adult students, that takes out all the frustration from learning an instrument, whether you are new, or returning to your instrument.

Our Staff

With a music degree form the prestigious USC Thornton School of Music,  extensive background in piano performance, and a long background in orchestral conducting, I have cultivated a unique approach to teaching music that breaks down difficult passages in a way that makes it much easier to grasp, as well as fun and rewarding.

Every day we have students that come to us thinking that music is too difficult. Every day we prove to them that this isn't the case. With over 20 years of experience as a musician and music educator, I have come across students from every walk of life imaginable, and the truth is everyone can learn music.

We focus on making music fun, while still providing a great learning experience. At LAMAA, long ago we realized that simply because someone is a good musician, doesn't necessarily make them a good teacher.  This is why all of our instructors are undergo a professional background check, and our instructors are great teachers as well as working musicians.

Both my kids started piano with Sam. One also started singing lessons. We tried both the online and zoom. We did online lessons during covid and they were much better than I thought. Now we prefer the in person lessons. Sam is great with kids. I was actually very surprised at how soon they started playing songs and were actually reading music notes.

The instructor, Sam, is really knowledgeable and makes piano class fun. My son actually enjoys it. He is reading notes and playing songs on his own already which is super impressive. Would definitely reccomend to anyone!

We’re so glad we found this music school. The instructor is wonderfully, knowledgeable and great teacher. Our daughter is already playing the piano and reading notes!
