In this class, your student will study reading comprehension skills and strategies such as the main idea, sequencing, theme, characterization, and cause and effect. Each lesson includes instruction and fun, interactive activities designed to build skills in each area from the ground up, beginning with a reintroduction of the concept and followed by a stepwise skill progression sequence to mastery.
Homework assignments are assigned each week. (This is an ongoing class. Reserve your seat for this week's sessions held M-F, or attend a single trial session).
From the Instructor: Hello, I'm Jess! I like to bring my personality and keep the fun in education. I like to create games and activities to reinforce the concepts I'm teaching. Kids love games! Reading comprehension is my specialty! My reading comprehension students remain actively engaged during my sessions because they are genuinely interested in the way I present the material. I've been teaching the skills and strategies in one-on-one sessions for a few years now, and I'm glad to now have an opportunity to offer this as a class!
