Overview

Student-Teacher Ratio 7:1

Team Norcal Lacrosse Summer Day Camps offer excellent instruction in the fundamentals of lacrosse.

Each Camp is broken out into Boys Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced and also Girls Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced sections.  Boys and Girls camps on separate field fo social distancing.

Each summer our camps set new records for attendance.  We are by far the largest and most vibrant Lacrosse Day Camps in Northern California.

Why Team NorCal Summer Camps?

  •  Our 15th Year of Summer Camp Success - We have learned how to do this, and our camps get better each year - combining the best of the old and the new.  We are the largest lacrosse summer camp provider in Northern California for a good reason!
  • COVID-safe - Last year we hosted over 1,000 kids in our summer camps, and had a perfect safety record.   We take it seriously, and made some change for health reasons that actually made our camps better camps!
  • Pro, College and Team NorCal Coaches - Our coaching roster is unmatched.  Many of our travel team coaches participate in many of the camps, and returning college players and graduates are frequent guests in our Intermediate/Advanced Camps.  Our Beginner Camps are staffed by high school players and adult coaches who have the patience and the skill to teach young players how to get started in the game.
  • Outstanding Locations - MidPeninsula, Palo Alto, South Bay locations. Our locations often have turf Fields, picnic tables and bathroom facilities - we care a lot about the atmosphere of the camp.
  • Largest, Most Vibrant Camps in the Bay Area - Our camps average 80 players per camp (ranges from 60 to 120 depending on location).  That means there is a good range of players, so all skill levels will have critical mass, and there is a great deal of energy at a typical camp.  You'll see why we set attendance records every year and our returning camper ratio is so high!
  • Separate Boys and Girls Tracks -  Separate fields, instructors, and level of commitment.  Girls are led by Colleen Niklaus, Director of Girl's Programs, Team NorCal and former St Ignatius Coach Varsity Head Coach, where she led them to 4 #1 rankings in the State.
  • Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced Level Camp Options - Differentiated instruction/instructors/fields for all age and skill levels.  For Beginners, we start from scratch and go methodically though the fundamentals.  For Intermediate/Advanced, a 'training camp' experience for players at the travel team level or with several years of experience looking to substantially enhance their skills.
  • Half Day, Full Day and Overnight Options - Beginners can attend half day or full day.  Intermediate/Advanced Camp is always full day.  Bear Valley Overnight is a four day, three night overnight camp held in Bear Valley, California in the Sierra's.
  • Camp Snacks Included - Water all day every day, individual wrapped pieces of candy for those who work hard in camp, and morning and afternoon individually wrapped snacks like granola bars to stay fueled.  No SHARED PLATES OF FOOD for PUBLIC HEALTH.
  • Free Loaner Equipment - We have full gear - sticks, helmets, gloves, mouthpiece and pads available for boy and girl beginners to use during the camp.  If you have some or all of the equipment, we encourage you to bring it, but if not, you are covered!  All loaner equipment disinfected after each week of use.
  • Camp Jersey - All campers get a reversible Team NorCal jersey to use and keep!
  • Non-Lacrosse Activities -  While we love lacrosse, we find it best to occasionally feather in other co-ed all camp activities like Capture the Flag, Sharks and Minnows, and Lacrosse Baseball and Olympics to help campers make more friends and also keep interest high.

My youngest was being bullied by an older kid and didn’t want to tell me about it (until after the entire camp was over) to avoid being a “snitch”. I would like coaches to better monitor team member interactions much more closely. Sadly, my son does not wish to attend another lacrosse camp.

We are very sorry this happened. We had a 5:1 ratio of campers to counselors that week, so we had a lot of support and our best counselors, so this comes as a surprise to me (I was there as well). We would be glad to host him for another week of Beginner Camp if he was interested. This is the first negative review we have received in 6 years on Activity Hero. It is always best to address these issues at camp, since that is when we can and do things about this immediately.

Questions & Answers
What is the average age of kids at this camp? My daughter is a rising 8th grader, and she frequently is the oldest kid in such camps, which doesn't interest her. Can you please let me know what the average age group for this camp is? (Lacrosse Summer Day Camps) -
