Summer Surf Camp

Welcome to your dream summer surf camp experience!

With years of experience and a curriculum carefully crafted, we are proud to be the best surf school in Los Angeles; able to teach all skill ranges and levels. From first-time students to teens who want to compete, our camp is for all ages ranging from 5-16 years old. Sunrise Surf Academy camps always have a minimum 3:1 camper to instructor ratio.

We have locations in Venice Beach and the Pacific Palisades and offer by-the-day, or by-the-week options. We also offer completely flexible Custom Pods at both locations.

Our surf camp curriculum was designed in consultation with experts in child development psychology, 3 generations' worth of experience operating summer camps, and over a decade of experience specifically in surf camps. 

Sunrise Surf Academy prides itself on the quality and quantity of the instructors. Our instructors have completed a rigorous water safety program, including training from top L.A. County lifeguards. Additionally, our counselors have CPR and First Aid certifications from the Red Cross.

Surf sessions will vary depending on age, ocean conditions, and the experience level of the camper. Many students will have one-on-one instruction, while others will receive advanced coaching. There will always be an option to play beach games or swim with other campers and instructors.

Dynamic land lessons about one of the following topics will be taught each day:

• Oceanography
  

Surfboards and wetsuits are included with camp. A 10% LA Beach Tax is added to the session price (you'll see it displayed at checkout as a "processing fee"). L.A. County charges camps to operate on the beach and this charge helps the County keep the beach clean and safe. Sunrise Surf covers half of the 20% fee, and the other 10% is covered by this surcharge.
