The Story School is a perfect place for campers who love LARP, fantasy, adventures, and being their best selves! Located in the beautiful woods at Nature's Classroom in Charlton, Massachusetts, campers are immersed in an interactive fantasy world where anyone and everyone can be a hero.

The Story School prides itself on using curiosity-based learning practices to teach critical STEAM skills. This curiosity inspires campers to creatively utilize what they have learned to solve challenges and level-up their characters. Campers will explore our world of magic, history, and monsters by day and as the sun sets, enjoy getting to know friends over games, crafts, and dorm activities.

Families that have participated in The Story School know their camper will feel safe, expand their STEAM and interpersonal skills, and return a more confident and empowered version of themselves. The Story School is inclusive of all campers and proud to serve a large number of neuro-diverse and LGBTQ+ students.

Join us for one-week, two-week, or a full six-week summer session as the story unfolds each day! All campers are welcome from ages 8-18 years old.

To parents who want to send their kids to a camp during summer, this place is amazing and works really well. Your children will learn a lot here such as the value of working with others, learning traits of heroes and integrating those traits within themselves, and learning STEAM skills that can be applied to life. A couple of examples of traits the kids learn of heroes and integrate those traits within themselves would be compassionate towards others and behaving in a honorable way towards others. Finally a way that kids learn STEAM skills that can be applied to life is that they make use of science to solve problems that will help them in a task. In the end your child's well-being matters a great deal to us and they will be surrounded by people who are like them and care for them.

The Story School takes imaginative play to the next level, brining stories from history and literature to life. Campers become heroes and adventure with those of similar interests in roleplay, storytelling, and fighting with foam swords! Think of a video game, but instead you have to put on a costume and travel the camp to rescue its citizens, rather than sit in front of a screen. They encourage cooperation, creativity, and neurodiversity!

The Story School is an amazing space that fosters growth and learning. The environment is welcoming and enthusiastic, encouraging campers to open up and be themselves. Many neurodiverse and LGBT+ folks have found The Story School to be a safe space, and it's a fantastic place to learn. As a child, I would've benefited enormously from this place, and it's great to see kids flourishing there.
