Overview

FOR THE KIDS:  Come hang out with friends in these interactive and engaging groups designed to keep connected during distance learning.

FOR THE PARENTS: Weekly on-going Social Resilience and Skill Building groups to help kids cope with these challenging times :  

Age: 7-10 year old and 11-14 year old groups

  • Curriculum is based on the award winning book, Diary of a Social Detective and Dr Jessum’s upcoming book, Social Detective Academy (in-press). 

  • Provide an opportunity for positive social interaction as well as skill practice in leadership, emotional intelligence, theory of mind and positive interactions.

  • Offer a safe environment for peer support, deep meaningful interactions and lasting friendships 

Social Detective Academy

is committed to helping kids, families and the community create, deepen and maintain nourishing social connections. This is particularly important during this time of social distancing. Our online programs offer a wide variety of tools to help enhance social relating with a specific emphasis on how to stay connected to each other via the virtual mediums we have available to us.   

Other current offerings: Individual virtual sessions for parents, kids and families:  to help boost general coping as well as to help problem solving strategies for dealing with the disruption the pandemic is causing in our day to day lives.
