Skyhawks provides a wide variety of fun, safe and positive programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. Our programs are designed to give each child a positive introduction into sports while fostering a lifelong love for an active, healthy lifestyle.
Our patient and knowledgeable staff use a variety of skill-building games and activities to give each athlete a complete understanding and overview of the sport. Since 1979 Skyhawks has taught over two million boys and girls life lessons through sports.
Our coaches and directors make a significant difference in your child’s on-field experience. We choose our staff based on their strong personal character and their capacity to effectively communicate sports skills to youth. Our staff makes the extra effort, every time, to ensure that your children have the best camp experience and that each child leaves camp having learned new skills, made new friends and had fun! Coaches and directors are required to complete an extensive certification process that includes:
Program Director
A Program Director is a college-aged individual or college graduate with strong communication skills, athletic management experience and experience working with children. Their primary role is to be the on-site supervisor for each program. Our directors have played sports for the following schools: Volleyball/Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo, Football/Stanford, Soccer/UC San Diego, Baseball/Skyline College, Volleyball/Foothill College, Football/Yale, Football/Princeton, just to name a few.
Program Coach
A Program Coach is age 16 or older, with experience in varsity athletics as well as working with children. The coach is the most essential part of the Skyhawks program. They work individually with the participants to teach, encourage and challenge them and to ensure that each child has a terrific Skyhawks experience!
