Discussion Topic: 

Anna short owl story → owl eyes and how we slow down and look at the world as artist. 

Spending time in nature & GGP: what do you think we might come across in the park outside today? What interests you? What can you take photos of?  

Show different types of photography

Camera Safety

Camera Safety: Introduce how to handle and work a camera (have a one sheet visual for this)

Strap stays on wrist, with the camera tightly in your hand

Fragility, can easily break

Keep away from water, battery will break if gets wet

Lens, the eye of the camera. What happens if our eyes get scratched, can we see?

Patience in waiting for camera turn, we will make sure everyone gets enough time

When not taking photos, make sure to turn off camera.

Mindful Moment: Use owl eyes to observe your surroundings

Think, Pair, Share: Share what you noticed. What do you think you want to take photos of? Share one thing that your partner said to the whole group (if we have time)

Partner Activity: Pretend photographer - go around, using your hand as a camera and “take” photos!

Maybe come up with some fun end of day routine that is spin off of bud/thorn but using artist words/phrases? Maybe like, “what was your beautiful oops that happened today?” “what was a mistake you turned into a make?” and “what do you want to make sure you take a picture of tomorrow?”
