About
Sci-Tech Discovery Center
OUR MISSION: To engage and inspire learners of all ages and backgrounds to embrace discovery and innovation through the active exploration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
MAKERSPACE: The process of designing, building, testing and iterating is fundamental to learning. To support our community in this pursuit, we opened our first Makerspace in 2016 and hosted a wide range of woodworking workshops, robotics, electricity projects and building camps. We are excited to offer our expanded Makerspace, presented by Raytheon and Siemens, with more space, tools and technologies to increase the breadth of projects and materials.
WHY WE DO IT: With the generous support of our partners we bring innovative learning to kids in North Texas to build their STEM skills and confidence and spark their interest in pursuing STEM careers. Research shows that students who envision a career in a STEM field at age 13 are two to three times more likely to earn college degrees in STEM, so we seek to inspire kids while they are in elementary and middle school.
Since STEM jobs pay up to 40% more than non-STEM jobs, the spark that Sci-Tech provides helps to transform our participants’ lives by addressing career inspiration for their future economic stability.

Sci-Tech Discovery Center believes that STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) is for everyone.
