Student-Teacher Ratio 8:1
Get ready for an unforgettable summer experience at our camps! Your child's summer break is about to get a whole lot more exciting.
In accordance with our tradition, the camp will commence with lively warm-up activities and icebreakers on the initial day, followed by introductory games and footwork exercises. Our primary focus remains on saber fencing, renowned for its swiftness and strategic acumen, while also honing essential skills in our young fencers. With a ratio of eight students to one instructor and supplementary coaching support, we ensure individualized attention and mentorship.
Participants enrolling in our summer camp programs will be introduced to the art of fencing, providing a dynamic avenue to enhance both physical prowess and mental acuity within a vibrant and engaging setting that nurtures social adeptness, competitive spirit, and self-discipline.
Novice fencers will acquire fundamental fencing techniques, encompassing footwork, blade work, and distance management. They will engage in bouts utilizing electrical equipment, cultivating an understanding of fencing etiquette, rules, and sportsmanship.
We take pride in our faculty, comprising local competitive fencers and esteemed international coaches. Witnessing young fencers thrive under the guidance of these seasoned and supportive mentors is truly gratifying.
Our fencing summer camps are held both in the Golden Gate Park and within our dedicated studio in San Francisco's Richmond District. Our facility boasts a sprung floor designed to mitigate injuries.
Running from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, this year's program is packed with fun and learning. We've secured the talents of two top-notch coaches, one from Indiana and the other from France. These coaches bring with them impressive track records, having guided medal-winning fencers in both the US and France.
Coach Nicolas Rousset of Paris, whose team has clinched the Championship for the France National Men's Team and secured 2nd place for the Women's Team, will lead the final four weeks. Additionally, two athletes trained by Coach Nicolas have earned medals in the U20 World Championship as part of a team, with one achieving 3rd place individually. Moving forward, Coach Nicolas will remain our full-time coach for the next three years.
Daily check-in for students is scheduled at 10:00 at our facility, followed by recreational activities in Golden Gate Park (weather permitting). After lunch, we return to our studio for fencing practice. Children can be picked up at 3:00 pm. In case of inclement weather, we engage in a full day of activities at our gym, seamlessly integrating games and fun with fencing practice.
We're excited to greet your children at our exclusive Sabre Fencing summer camp very soon!
