Welcome to Rising Stars of A.I., an education non-profit dedicated to teaching kids about artificial intelligence and its potential to shape the future. Our mission is to provide accessible and high-quality education to children of all backgrounds, empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate and contribute to a world increasingly shaped by A.I.

Our Staff

Our team of educators and experts in the field of A.I. are dedicated to providing a learning experience that is both accessible and challenging. We believe that by combining rigorous academic standards with interactive and engaging activities, children can develop a deep understanding of A.I. and its applications in the world around them.

Dr. Zhuwen Li, A.I. Instructor 

Dr. Zhuwen Li is a Tech Lead Manager (TLM) & Research Scientist with Nuro, Inc. He is leading the detection team and helping autonomous vehicles to see the world from multi-sensors. His research interests include object detection, segmentation, 3D structure recovery, motion analysis, point cloud analysis, etc. He received the BE degree in computer science from Tianjin University, in 2008, the master’s degree in computer science from Zhejiang University, in 2011, and the PhD degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore, in 2014.

Margery Maidman, Literature Instructor 

With over forty years of experience in education, Margery Maidman, M.A.T., is a highly accomplished literacy coach, teacher, and college prep expert. Her extensive background includes teaching at the elementary, middle school, high school, and university levels, as well as providing literacy coaching services to schools in Massachusetts. Margery has worked with gifted and talented students, as well as those in need of academic support. She is well-versed in current educational methods for reading, writing, study strategies, and differentiated instruction. Margery received her B.A. in English from Brown University and her M.A.T. in English Education from the University of Chicago.

Swing Zhou, Art Instructor 

Swing Zhou is a highly accomplished artist and educator. After graduating from the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing, China, he went on to earn an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and an MA from the School for Visual Arts in New York. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Swing has taught at prestigious institutions including the Fine Arts Academy of Guangzhou, Maharishi University in Iowa, and Color Dot Art Space in Belmont, CA. Swing has served as the Program Director of the Chinese Culture Center in San Francisco, where he organized exhibitions and events that showcased the best of Chinese art and culture. With his talent, dedication, and impressive credentials, Swing Zhou is a true force in the world of art and education.
