Welcome to Principal Creative & Performing Arts, the Peninsula’s favorite place to dance!

PCPA offers dance classes for kids ages 5 and up. We have been serving the peninsula for over 10 years. We are a proud member of the Bay Area Parent Magazine Hall of Fame, having been voted "Best Dance Studio" numerous times, most recently in 2023. 

We offer ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, and musical theatre classes. For those that are interested in an accelerated learning path, competitive performance teams are available. Camps and workshops also available.

Our goal is to create a love of dance that lasts a lifetime. Regardless of whether you dance for fitness, fun, or you want to become a professional in the dance world, we are hear to help you achieve your goals.

Our Staff

Jana Chapeton - Owner/Founder/Director

During her 18 years of training Jana has studied jazz, tap, hip hop, Afro – Haitian, Dunham technique, and choreography. Jana has been most influenced by Janel Tomblin – Brown, Ehud and Daynee Krauss, Susan Whipp, Alicia Pierce, and Kimberly Iniguez. In May of 2002 she completed her Bachelor’s degree in dance at San Francisco State University.

Jana loves working with beginning level students and preschool dancers. She is most motivated to help students discover dance and movement. Jana has been teaching through out the Bay Area since 1998.
