Campers will use Unity to design 3D worlds and interactive landscapes that can be experienced in virtual reality using Meta Quest 2 headsets. Each camper uses their own dedicated headset throughout the week as they create and test their designs. NOTE: Although this is a "game design" course, we've learned to simplify the types of games the campers create since it can get complex and demanding very quickly. A majority of this course focuses on adding in functionality for VR headsets and moving through elaborate 3D worlds that the campers create entirely on their own. Advanced gaming functions will not be covered in this course, but an understanding of VR world creation will be mastered.
This place is amazing for kids to learn and develop at! There is a good balance of learning about technology and socializing. One thing that I was fearful of is that this camp was going to be all in front a computer, yet there was a lot of time spent outside playing games as well. All in all, this program is great!
Our kids loved attending Planet Bravo each summer. The courses were always fun and engaging for our kids and the instructors were always hands-on and very patient when our kids needed additional help. They also did a great job of transitioning to online courses during the Covid years. I would highly recommend!
