In Smart Tech Builders, campers will dive into the fascinating world of the Internet of Things (IoT), where everyday objects are connected and communicate with each other. Using specialized Arduino kits that the campers own (lab fee $155), they'll design and build their own smart devices, bringing technology to life. Campers will create projects like automated lights that respond to movement, temperature sensors that trigger cooling fans, or even door alarms that send notifications. Along the way, they'll learn the basics of coding, circuitry, and how IoT powers everything from smart homes to wearable tech. By the end of the week, campers will have experience with a portfolio of functional smart devices, gaining valuable insights into this rapidly growing field and the ability to keep creating at home with their Arduino kits.
This place is amazing for kids to learn and develop at! There is a good balance of learning about technology and socializing. One thing that I was fearful of is that this camp was going to be all in front a computer, yet there was a lot of time spent outside playing games as well. All in all, this program is great!
Our kids loved attending Planet Bravo each summer. The courses were always fun and engaging for our kids and the instructors were always hands-on and very patient when our kids needed additional help. They also did a great job of transitioning to online courses during the Covid years. I would highly recommend!
