In this class, students will learn the manual alphabet, family signs, numbers and how to use them, and other basic signed vocabulary. Students will practice their receptive and expressive skills by participating in fun activities and class discussions. This class includes valuable information regarding American Deaf Culture norms and behaviors as well as a brief overview of Deaf history in America. By the end of this class, students will be able to carry on a basic conversation in sign language with a Deaf person.
Summer courses are offered between 8:30am - 3:45pm. Students may take up to 4 courses a day, with a supervised lunch break from 12:45 - 12:30. Exceptions to the schedule are noted in the course time.
