Overview

The Human Body: What Are You Made Of? - 4C (Gr. 4-7) - In this biology centered class, the students take a deeper look at the structural and functional basis of life: the cell. They delve into what cells look like and how the sub cellular components support the functioning of the cell as well as the whole organism. Students will work on fun projects to make sense of the micro and macro levels of the cellular organization and its integration into the whole body.

The Human Body: What Can Your Body Do? - 4A (Gr. 4-7) - This class is geared towards understanding how the body functions as a whole and is made up of subsystems. Students will explore the workings of select systems through uniquely designed modeling strategies. They will participate in correlating how the needs of the body are met and devise the ideal plan for a healthy lifestyle.

Bio Wonder I - This beginner biology class will introduce fundamentals of biology science through inquiry activities that will help students to develop science skills: observations, designing the experiments, critical thinking, and analyzing the data. Students will have opportunities to build their own investigations and make discoveries following the Scientific Method. Learning outcomes include helping students discover the fun in science, helping them understand science as a process, and building a solid foundation in STEM.

AP Biology Prep: This course is designed to introduce the four Big Ideas of AP is course is designed to introduce the four Big Ideas of AP Biology. Besides getting fundamental knowledge of Evolution, biology. Besides getting fundamental knowledge of Evolution, Genetics, Ecology and Cell, students will learn science skills which include scientific investigations, (inquiry), mathematical investigations, (inquiry), mathematical skills, developing models, generating evidence based claims & kills, developing models, generating evidence based claims & designing experiments. Student centered lessons will help them to learn strategies for independent learning, critical thinking & improving their writing responses for given concept based questions.

Summer courses are offered between 8:30am - 3:45pm. Students may take up to 4 courses a day, with a supervised lunch break from 12:45 - 12:30. Exceptions to the schedule are noted in the course time.
