About
OC Rain Basketball
Join OC Rain Basketball Program to train with our professional coaching staff and compete at a high level. Our teams are broken down by age groups and are available for both, boys and girls. Each one of our young athletes is welcome to join our team program regardless of their experience or skill level. Team signups are available throughout the year.
OC rain basketball team program includes:
- Team practices with our professional coaches where our athletes are taught the fundamentals of teamwork, discipline, ball movement, team defense, offensive play execution and much more.
- Speed, strength & agility training where our athletes are able to develop their athletic abilities, improve conditioning and get prepared for the physicality of the game.
- Basketball tournaments where our athletes are able to showcase their skills, build their team chemistry, gain playing experience and improve a as basketball player.
Adidas Gauntlet Program: Upper level teams will compete in Adidas Tournaments

Our Staff
Shafiq Chatterjee / Chapter Director
My love for basketball and continued to perfect his skills, which landed him on one of the best AAU teams in the country, ARC. In doing so, he played against the strongest opponents who would later become the biggest named players in the NBA including Brandon Jennings, Austin Day and Taylor King. Coach Chatterjee then went on to play all 4 years in an elite high school program. After which, Coach Chatterjee continued his basketball journey overseas, playing in 4 different countries.
After his exceptional performance on the court, Coach Shafiq went back to his true passion, coaching the players of tomorrow. He has coached at 5 different high schools and has had an award winning coaching career with 1 League Championship, 2 National Championships, as well as 1 CIF Championship with Jserra Catholic High school. Coach Chatterjee has progressed to the next chapter of his career as the Director of OC Rain and is very committed to giving back to the game of basketball and in helping young players find their love and passion for the game.
