MVLA Soccer Club offers winter/spring programs and summer camps to kids (TK/kinders through rising 3rd graders) in Los Altos, California. We are excited to offer our Shooting Stars program, a skills-based series of sessions designed to instill a love of the game and prepare kids for joining our competitive teams. Led by our Coach Joey Sudyka, the Shooting Stars Program is focused on improving their technical ability in a positive, exciting, and challenging environment. It provides an opportunity for children to develop dribbling and shooting skills, coordination and spatial awareness while having fun playing with their friends. Our ball mastery sessions use skill-based games to promote individual time on the ball and real passion for playing soccer.
We are committed to developing strong, technically proficient soccer players who reach their potential both on and off the field. The caliber of athletes who have completed our program have earned MVLA national recognition for our approach. The MVLA philosophy is broken down into 5 phases that naturally progress as a player matures and develops - Passion, Confidence, Teamwork, Excellence, College & Beyond.
Coach Joey has been playing and coaching young players former than years. He has coached ages 3-22, from those just starting out through collegiate athletes.. He joined MVLA in 2020, taking on responsibilities for the Shooting Stars program in addition to coaching multiple girls teams in the MVLA competitive programs. Joey holds a USSF B Coaching License and has a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science as well as a Psychology Minor from Oregon State University.
Throughout the years MVLA has impacted the lives of thousands of youth soccer players and has been extremely successful in developing and producing top players in the community such as Abby Dahlkemper (UCLA, US U23 Women's National Team), Teresa Noyola (Stanford, Herman Trophy Winner) and our very own Executive Director, Joe Cannon (MLS Player). Whatever the path our players choose, MVLA has enriched their lives.
