Spanish Academy Level 1

English: The day before the start of each session, participants will receive an email with a link to join our Zoom virtual classroom and a list of required supplies. Students should click this link 5 minutes before the start of the session, at which point they'll be checked in by our instructors. 

DETAILS

Lesson 1: To kick off our first day of Spanish Academy, as a class we will go over the basics of identifying who we are, our name, favorite color, etc. This lesson will consist of motivating us to welcome one another, and form a sense of community and confidence before starting the virtual classes.

Lesson 2: As a class we will review the alphabet in Spanish, practicing the sounds of each letter. Students will watch a video to support them with strategies of how they can listen, sound out, and identify each letter of the Spanish alphabet.

Lesson 3:  We will review our ABC Spanish letters and connect them to nouns (person, place, thing, animals). This activity will help students connect each letter to a visual that will help them identify letters and review numbers

Lesson 4: As a class, students will observe and listen to the pronunciation of letters and practice repeating with the teacher. Students will quiz each other to see how well they can spy the letter they are sounding out.

Lesson 5: Now that we have mastered the alphabet, we will master the Spanish Vowels, A, E, I , O , U .  These vowels are critical in our ability to begin learning how to read in Spanish! We will master the vowel sounds and identifying them.

Lesson 6: After mastering the vowels we will begin reviewing the Spanish Silabas.  Silabas help students ability to sound letters together, put them together and begin reading Spanish Sight words.
