About
Mindful Youth

Ellen is a Mindfulness and Education Specialist who has led
secular family mindfulness workshops throughout the San Francisco Bay
Area since 2011. A former senior mindfulness instructor for the
non-profit Mindful Schools, she aims to create a social safety net for
K-12 youth by helping sensitive students and families connect with each
other. These weekly mindfulness events, which combine mindfulness and social experiences, are sponsored by a grant from Opening Doors PTA.

TIME magazine featured this mindfulness program in its Feb 2014 cover story "The Mindful Revolution." Benefits of mindfulness practice include: increased attention span, impulse control, concentration and academic performance; reduced stress; the ability to overcome resistance to healthy habits; effective management of difficult emotions and effective coping skills in the face of school bullies.
