The Manager was awesome. She allowed our daughter to be creative with her design. We enjoyed this activity

The activity itself was fun. The A/C in this location didn't work so it was a little hot and uncomfortable the room was not good.

Nayeli was scheduled didn’t go because I realized this was for 13 and older and she is only 10 yrs old.

It was a beautiful experience. The girls had much fun picking the shirt style and making it with a sweet professional trainer.

We had a great time creating bracelets. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

We have attended crafts at Michael's in the past, they have been ok. This craft was canceled and not communicated. I received an email the morning reminding me of the craft, yet in fact they were not planning on hosting it, as they did not have the supplies (something they probably knew about before the morning of). Causing me to have gathered the kids, drove there only to find out the craft was canceled.

You had to buy the canvas and the paint was just regular paint that can buy from the stores. It was in the middle of the store not in a private room with no seating.

The gentleman working the event this day was good. He was polite and engaging with the children throughout the time I was there with my children. Even I did the craft painting! We had a good time.

There is no proper arrangement even there wasn’t a chair to sit for the kids and do activities. Not sure why didn’t have any classroom even to do crafts activities?

This was lots of fun. Sara from the Victorville store was amazing, fun, patient and kind, which made it so much more enjoyable. We even learned a little something and bought all the same supplies to do it again at home.. My daughter and I had a great time!!

Danielle from michael’s in Menifee branch is a sweetheart and very patient with kids like mine that can get messy.

Upon arrival, the store manager told me they weren’t doing the event because “we don’t have enough employees to pull the supplies”. So I had to walk around the store and pull the supplies and essentially start the class myself for the 10-15 people waiting in the room. Pulling the supplies took less than 10 minutes, so a little disappointing that the manager would have rather canceled the class instead of just doing that throughout the morning. However, he was very friendly once I offered to help. The event itself was fine, just a bunch of garden rocks and paints. The kids absolutely loved it, which is all that matters in the end. I would attend another one of these, but be prepared to do some work yourself, this is certainly not an instructor led class or guided in any way.

We arrived at the start of the 2-4 p.m. window and were seated at a table with four chairs right inside the entrance. There were not enough seats for our group so we asked for another chair to be added. I let her know we had RSVP'ed for five people but the employee sounded surprised as she did not have a list to go by. I think this would have been helpful so she could have been prepared. The activity was to paint rocks; however, the employee gave us very small and irregularly shaped rocks, making it hard to even paint a picture on them. When we asked if we could switch them and get flatter rocks, she said there wouldn't be enough for others. Minutes after we started painting, a group of two and another group of three came in to paint as well. The employee assured them that we were just finishing up and that they could walk around the store or just wait. We weren't finishing up though; we had only just started. Unfortunately, we really couldn't enjoy the activity since we had people standing over our shoulders staring at us waiting to finish so we rushed and left. Michael's has a full craft room with tables so I don't know understand why the class wasn't held there. This would have allowed many people to do the activity simultaneously. Needless to say, I was very disappointed by our experience. I don't think we'll be back again.

This was my first time taking my kids to a Michaels’ activity. It’s wonderful they offer these opportunities to the community, but unfortunately, the experience was a bit awkward. The room was far too small to accommodate a small gathering of people and tables blocked the door to get in. There weren’t enough chairs and you couldn’t squeeze by to get to an open space. I’m not sure if this is typical, but hopefully we’ll have a more pleasant experience next time. Everyone was nice and friendly.

Free & fun activity. The associate that helped was great too!

Painting rocks was fun, however there was only one table blocking a whole room of tables. Our rocks got moved to dry and clashed together when being handed back to us, so paint was transferred into others. There's a whole room for crafting why not use the whole room instead of one table that barley has room for 6 people blocking the door to the room?

I gave two stars because the employee that was in charge of the activity was not nice to me and my son when we arrived. She did not want to help us or acknowledge us. The other people painting were the ones to help us and showed us how to do the leaf and pumpkin on the rocks. The employee was sitting down painting her own rocks and I had to ask her for a chair for my son to sit and paint. She left to get one but someone from another family actually ended up allowing my so to sit in his chair. When she came back she didn't have a chair but I decided to leave it alone and just let my son enjoy painting. The families that came in after us got way better treatment. She was so helpful with them and got up immediately to give another child her seat. Other than that my son really loved painting the rocks and that's all that matters.

Amazing we really enjoyed it. The kids eventually loosened up and enjoyed it. It’s a very positive thing and activity to do with the children. The instructor was also great ! Very professional and sweet.

Colma location. In the end, my kids loved their shirts, but 1) it was crowded and the tables are small. 2) the only instruction given was to refer to the flyer on the counter - one sheet of paper with pics /directions to be used by everyone. Instruction sheets should have been placed on every table, along with rubber bands. 3) All the children put rubber bands on their T-shirts VERY quickly, so then everyone was in line at the same time! The bulk of this class was spent just standing in line waiting to get a turn with the ONLY instructor who was putting dye on the shirts. There should have been TWO instructors for this event. Long, boring wait.

They had no idea what event I was talking about. Even after showing the registration, was not given supplies nor an explanation or an apology. Waste of time and money. Highly disappointed, as was my child.

While my kids enjoyed making the tie dye tshirts, I felt the class was a waste of time. It was rushed, there was little guidance for a first time tie dyer like myself, and supplies were very limited. I had to constantly ask questions and request dyes as the other participants used them up and we didn't have enough to use when we were ready to start dyeing. I would much rather have done it myself at home with an online tutorial.

I’m only giving this 4 stars because we knew how to do some tie dye designs on our own. We knew we had to purchase our own shirts upon arrival which we did. We went into the craft room and the instructor had the tie dye bottles ready, plastic bags and cardboard down on the floor and brown paper on the tables. She then said she was given no other instructions and to go ahead and do whatever designs we wanted. So I was disappointed in that. Thankfully I knew some designs and was able to show some other families.

What a disappointment! The event advertisement said we would be making tie-dye shirts. Upon arrival, we were instructed to buy shirts and fabric markers. Once the items were purchased, we went into the craft room to find out we would just be using the markers to draw on the shirts. No tie-dye. Zero instructions or guidance. Just, “draw whatever you want on the shirts”. We could have done that from home. Will not be going to another one of these events.

The advertising said "woodburned" but they canceled that because it was too dangerous for the under-12 crowd they expected. I went alone and the facilitator explained that we would just be painting the wood tags. There were several kids... none under the age of 12. If the advertising says they are doing something too dangerous for small children, they need to remember that parents know their kids and will not bring them to a craft that they can not do or is dangerous for them to do.

We arrived on time and headed to cash register the employee was upset and went to get the team lead for activities, the activity team lead stated that there weren't enough to do the activity and not enough employees that day to mind the store front so she had to cancel. My son was very sad because he wanted to make the gift for his Grandfather. So we left disappointed, we wish someone would have told us of the cancelation earlier so we may have attended an activity elsewhere, instead we were encouraged by an email to confirm we would be there prior to arrival time.

Krissy was a phenomenal help! My girls and I really enjoyed making fathers day key chains.

When we got there, the two employees “running” the class didn’t acknowledge anyone or help run the class. One of the employees sat at the table and had a bag of food in the chair next to her and when we arrived for our three seats, she didn’t budge. I picked up her lunch and moved it out of the way for her. I kept on giving her signs that she needed to get off her butt and make room at the table for the kids that were coming in but she was beyond repair as an employee and I felt I needed to take my kids and leave and not waste anymore time. I am upset because we made plans to come to this location from frisco and decided to pass on other activities to do this. I will never step foot in a Michaels again other than to address this issue with the manager Marc face to face.

I recommend this to everyone looking for something to do with kids. Thank you Michaels for arranging this. My kids had so much fun and the staff at this location was so helpful. Please check this out as they have activities pretty much every Sunday and try it with your kids.

We had the best craft session painting a birdhouse. I plan to attend as many as these events as possible Zumi is 5 years old and she can't wait to go back next week. The class monitor/ assistance was so helpful, happy,kind,informative and helpful. I went to Abington PA Michaels.

My kids was so excited to go, only to get there and it’s cancel because of staff shortages. Not fair at all not even an email to in form us about the cancellation, the kids was very disappointed.

The activity was scheduled to run from 2-4 pm. There was a sign about the activity right beside the front door when we went in. We got there at 2:10 pm. When I asked about the kit, I was told that it was first-come, first-served and they were out.

Super easy activity for any age. It was a bit of a short activity to do though.

2 grandkids and self participated in the FREE project. We had fun we will return next week. Staff when in the activity was great. Only issue is when i signed up on the site, I also called to confirm. The sales person did not know about the class. I was put on a long hold and told there is no event until the last Sunday of the month. I called again on Saturday since I had not received a cancellation from the sign up and was informed there is a free activity every Sunday. Glad I called back. only problem now is this site has removed my preferred location. Please put Vacaville back on the roster.

My mom has been attending some of the Michaels classes recently and she's enjoyed making all the wonderful things and meeting other like minded people. She looks forward to her next class and learning new crafts. Thank you Michaels!

They keep canceling their events and then getting rude if you even ask about them. These used to be really cute events for kids, whoever took over handling this at this store has really dropped the ball. I don’t even waste my time checking on these anymore and I certainly won’t spend a single cent on this store ever again.

The mini canvas craft was fun. The project was quick and easy. The host was friendly and welcoming. Michaels did a great job planning out the craft project. I hope that the company will continue to offer free programs like this and many more. Their support and enrichment of the community through arts and crafts will ensure generations of return customers and make popular again the arts and craft movements.

They canceled it without notification. They were under staffed but the employee I spoke with was angry that I asked and very rude.

Went for activities and their was no customer service. Had to wait in line to ask where activity was. They laughed at us and said we don't have enough staff to due event. I recommend you to take event off web site.

I wasn't expecting much from this other than an instructor to help guide the kids to make a necklace, and we didn't even get that. The table was too small for the amount of people that came. The materials they provided were not the right kind to actually make a necklace. The string wouldn't go through the beads at all and we had a 3yr old struggling to do it. They only had enough beads for 2 kids, though 6 arrived. After I asked for the 3rd time for them to get something more kid friendly for the string she finally got up and got more string but did not get more beads. The "instructor" was a young girl who did not help the kids with the activity at all. Then she kept taking from my kids piles of beads to pass out to the other kids instead of trying to see if they could get more materials. They didn't even have a clasp or anything to finish the necklace with, I had to tie a knot at the end of the string to put it around my kids heads. It was not a great experience and I am happy that I did not pay for it. But I guess I shouldn't expect much from a free event. Just disappointed overall. We will try another but the necklace one was not worth it, I could have done better buying materials my self and doing this all at home because that's basically what I did there.

It was a great experience. The set up was clean and at the front of the store. All available material to do the project were present. Email reminder and disclosure statement clearly written with no clutter. Would definitely attend another.

Horrible experience because there was no experience. I was booked to a store no longer opened so then I called another store close to my home only to find their teacher didn’t show up because their wasn’t enough people to sign up for the class.

The store could not provide any supplies for making candy corn clay pot. It’s always good to call ahead so you won’t waste time driving.

When we arrived there wasnt anyone else there for the event. Instead of cancelling the staff setup the area for my daughter. Multiple staff members while performing their jobs stopped and helped my daughter with ideas, create pieces for the art, and even painted a canvas for her. She felt so special and I truly appreciated their consideration for my little girl. Johnathan coordinated the event and did an excellent job! I am planning on attending the morning events on Mondays, Wednesdays, and or Fridays because of the experience we had Sunday! Michaels should commend their employees for going above and beyond for my daughter! Thank you!

It was okay. The activity is simple and done inside the store with a small table.

The Father's Day coaster project was supposed to be for bigger kids and so when I took my three-year-old daughter,they were very accommodating and they helped her with the paint and the supplies to make a coaster instead of using the wood-burning kit which is what the project called for. Staff was very friendly.

To answer your question! NO Some time it’s not easy to plan day for kids ! It would’ve be nice if you gave us another email that the class been canceled!!!! We go there me and my friend and 3 kids and the manager at that location will say sorry there is no class .
