Mi Casita de Español

This daycare is a treasure. My first kid attended and has graduated on to kinder and my other is currently here for almost 2 years. The teachers are incredible. We did summer camp here as well over the years. Lots of fun activities, free play, and lots of love from the teachers. Don't let one review discourage you (kids bite - and I say this as a pediatrician, and over the years, I have seen the teachers handle complicated behavioral issues with grace and love). As a side note, most kids here are siblings of families that have been here for years and years and drive all over the Peninsula - its really a hidden treasure. (My kid runs off with happiness every single day and many don't even want to leave and want to stay longer).

This is my youngest child's last week at Mi Casita de Español and I realized it might be helpful for others to hear my sincere love and appreciation for this place. We started with my eldest in 2017 and have been part of this community since. Mi Casita has not been a preschool it has been a safe, fun second family where my kids spend several hours being loved, taught and having fun. For Amor, the owner and active teacher, this is truly a labor of love. She is constantly striving to improve, to grow and to figure out more ways to teach, to create the type of safe space where the kids can stretch their imagination and their skills. I can, without any reservations, say she has grown the program in an impressive way since 2017. But it has not lost what I was searching for when we first enrolled- a place where my girls felt loved. And where they could have Spanish be part of their lives in multiple ways everyday. I am so so grateful to mi casita for surrounding my eldest with love when I was in the hospital giving birth to my second, for navigating COVID with us as a community, for making my youngest preschool graduation the most beautiful day I could have imagined for her - among other countless memories. I truly am so grateful. If you a place for your preschooler that is Spanish immersion, that is fun, creative and where the kids will be surrounded by loving teachers this is it. Mil gracias Amor, Sirly y todas las maestras que han tocado la vida de mis hijas. Nos vemos pronto!

My oldest kid is doing summer camp at Mi Casita Charleston for the third year in a row, and the youngest is doing summer camp for the first time at Wilkie. Both love summer camp at each campus (Charleston and Wilkie).

My kids look forward to going to Mi Casita. The teachers are the best, very loving and caring with the children. They care about the kids learning through play and encourage their imagination and adequate growth.

I highly recommend Mi Casita to everyone looking for nurturing and loving environment where the kids feel safe being themselves. Kids learn through play and have fun while learning. My kids have also made great friends at Mi Casita.

I signed up my daughter (3.5 years old), and my son (5.5 years old) to 1 week of summer camp in July 2022 in Wilkie Way Campus. The second day when I went to pick up my kids, my daughter was crying. The teacher Amor told me that another kid pulled her shirt. After I asked both of my kids what happened, my kids told me that my daughter got bitten by another kid. I went back to ask the teacher Amor what happened and the teacher played it dumb to not know that it was a bite. Just by looking at the red marks on her shoulder anyone will notice that is a bite mark. This place has so many red flags:
1) Poor management - the kid that bit my daughter was a 2 years old. Why will they put a 2 year old in the same summer camp (or area) for 3-5 years old!
2) Teacher Amor lied to me that she didn't know that my daughter got bitten by the other kid. She also said that there is a therapist on site and the therapist didn't noticed that was a bite mark. My 5.5 year old son told me that Ms. Amor sat down to talk to both of my kids and she asked if that was a bite and my son said yes.
I don't trust this place to send my kids. This place is very small for a preschool. Forget about summer camp. Same your time and money and take your kids somewhere else to learn Spanish.

We LOVE Mi Casita de Español. The teachers are loving, caring and so much fun. My Little One has so much fun that she wants to be a teacher for babies when she grows up. Safe environment and very accommodating.

Mi Casita de Espanol is by far the best place to send your kid for summer camp! Each week has a weekly focus and is a full Spanish Immersion program. My oldest daughter attended last year and both of my girls will attend this year! The staff is so kind and amazing. My daughter loves the program and learned so much. It’s a great blend of academy focus with fun activities. You get tons of photos throughout the summer too which I love receiving!

My son Gad a great time during his summer camp. He spent two weeks and always came back home happy and telling the things he made during his time at Mi Casita en Español. The team is super caring and lovely. I would definitely recommend this place.

My daughter knew no Spanish before going to Mi Casita summer camp, so I was nervous about how comfortable she would be. But Maestra Amor and all the teachers are very warm and welcoming and helped her find other kids to play with. Every day that we pick her up, she tells us how much fun she had, and we love all the art she comes home with!

A place full of love and passion for young kids! They can enjoy a nice and shady outdoor space with it’s beautiful arranged tree house, water play station and a lot of other activities. There is even a rabbit hopping around and the kids are allowed to feed him! Not to forget the lovely maestras. Thank you Mi Casita!

Mi Casita de Español is simply magical! The staff is so dedicated and they put so much love into everything they do, we’ve been here for almost a year and we couldn’t love it more.

The staff is so dedicated to have a hands-on, play-based educational experience for the kids. It’s amazing how children develop Spanish speaking skills while learning all the basic skills they would need in Kindergarten.

My daughter attended Mi Casita from the ages 3-5 years old and became fluent in Spanish in less than 1 year. Amor is a true gem of a person and teacher and the teaching staff loves your kids like their own while making sure their days are filled with learning, socializing, laughter, physical play and adventure. We couldn’t recommend Mi Casita more!

We simply LOVE Mi Casita. Our daughter is 3 years old and she started a year ago. The teachers are extremely creative and caring. Each week the children study a different theme, from caterpillars to butterflies, the world map, different cultures, seasons, nature... there is no limit. It’s exclusively in Spanish and we couldn’t imagine a better place for our child. It is 100% outdoor, including a weekly visit from a musician as well as a yoga teacher. It’s our happy place on earth.

We absolutely love this preschool - the animals make it so fun plus they learn Spanish and have a weekly Spanish musician that comes. A darling outdoor setup. We are preschool attendees.

Mi Casita has many benefits that other preschools don't have. It is outdoor, so kids are very rarely sick, they learn to communicate to each other while playing and running, oxygen is good for brain development, real nature is better than any toys. Maestra Amor is extremely caring and happy person, my daughter liked her from day one. So many interesting and developing activities. And she speaks Spanish in sentences only after 6 months being there!

Mi Casita de Espanol has gone above and beyond to care for my child. My daughter has learned so much and absolutely LOVES going to school, which was not like at her previous schools. We are so happy that she is happy and gaining so much experience and knowledge.

Mi Casita was an awesome preschool for our child! It was a very nurturing and lively environment with a variety of activities which made me wished I was able to attend as a kid! Maestro Amor and her team worked hard to create fun and inventive themes every single week!!! They did transportation one week and made a life size boat and plane! They even had tickets and suitcases for make-belief. Another week they had a Chinese restaurant and pretend noodles and potstickers and a menu. The preschool was a certified outdoor preschool where the children were encouraged to speak in Spanish. The teachers all spoke and read Spanish all the time.

Every week they would go on field trips, to the junior museum, the garden where they had a plot, Hidden Villa. We were quite happy because we felt our child's needs were met both emotional and intellectually. Learning Spanish was made fun and naturally, not a task or punishment which we found at another Spanish school. We felt confident enough to have it be our sons "casita", his second home during those early formative years.

Amor is great, I recommended it!! It was fun, creative and staff was really friendly. Kids learned Spanish and had fun activities, they loved it!

The principal is the best! Programs are amazing, kids do so much hands on learning! Loving and caring teachers! Immersion program at its max!

My then 3YO son had the best experience at Mi Casita de Español, he went from barely speaking Spanish to complete phrases in the language in juya few months! The place is so cozy and teachers are so loving and caring he had no problem adjusting. They carefully work on their program, making it both enriching and fun. Did I mention they have bunnies?

My wife and I passed Mi Casita one day, right after our child was born. They were having their open house, and we were intrigued by the idea of Spanish Immersion. We kept visiting for the next two years, and finally, when our son was 2 and a half, we sent him to camp. He immediately ran in to play in the sand pit, with all the construction toys, and totally forgot we were even there. He cried when we came to pick, and was only mollified when we told him he could come back the next day! Summer is around the corner, and we have signed up for every week, because all the themes look like so much fun. Mi Casita is a great way to spend your summer: The perfect combination of cultural/language immersion, outdoor exploration, and creative education engagement.

We signed our son up for camp, with the hope he would learn a little Spanish, and have a little fun. Well, one week later, he had learned A LOT of Spanish, and had a TON of fun. He came home exhausted from the good time he was having, and eager for more the next morning. His favorite part was the bunnies!. Amor has so many ways to engage kids in learning, and so many tricks up her sleeves to help bridge the gap between whatever language your kid speaks, and Spanish!

Mi Casita builds community, respect, curiosity, friendship, and a hunger for learning. We could not be happier with our decision to enroll our son there and wish we had many years earlier. The staff is incredible, the facilities are rich in learning opportunities, and you have to drag your kids out at the end of the day because they are having such a good time.

My kiddo attended camp here last year, and we already have him signed up for the whole summer this year! Besides being entirely in Spanish, each week has a focus that Amor and her fellow teachers work tirelessly to make fun and educational for the kids, with so many creative twists. It is a wonderful way to spend a week (or more), learning and exploring, all while being exposed to a new language and culture!

My son has been attending summer camps since he was 2.5 years old. They theme each week so well that each week is a unique experience for all the kids. I also love that he is being taught in Spanish. The maestras look over and attend to the children with tenderness and care. It has been a positive experience for him and we will be back this year, 3 summers in a row!

My son attends MCE now, but we wanted to ease him into the experience by having him attend camp. He LOVED it. Every day I picked him up, he just wanted to stay and play! He is on the younger side, and Amor and her staff are so patient with him. There are so many things for him to do, and so many ways for him to learn, all while being immersed in a forgein language. Each week of the camp is a different theme, and Amor goes above and beyond to create an engaging ciriculum, and every week ends with a field trip. We have already signed my son up for the whole summer!

It is a wonderful environment, with many creative activities, in a beautiful garden, the teachers invest a lot of time and care in supervising the children, the kids are very friendly with each other, my daughter had a great time and she can not wait to go again to the pre-school on the next day. She really loves it, and so do the parents.

Great place focusing in Spanish not only as a language but as culture and focusing in traditions and learning activities for the kids. Friendly and safe environment for kids!

Mi casita is an amazing school that you should enroll right know. My kid was always having a nice happy Spanish day. Sometimes he talks in Spanish at home.

Mi Casita has been a blessing to our family. Not only our child is learning Spanish but they have helped with his emotional and social development which is very crucial at this age. They always have a program and project to work on every week along with free play and plenty of outdoor time. We truly appreciate the fact that they try to understand each child individually and work based on their individual needs. They have also helped us with the transition of becoming a family of 4 which is a big a change for a 3 year old. It's been a great experience overall.

Mi Casita de Español is a wonderful experience for kids when they learn playing, enriching the family values and sharing the traditions of Latin American culture. Amor has built a place you can call a HOME.

Amor and her team are wonderful. They are warm, caring and lots of fun! The activities and field trips are creative and educational. I'm always impressed and my kids have a blast at Mi Casita.

We have been coming to Mi Casita for many years. Summer camps have included a week of Archeology theme, Outer Space theme, Science theme, etc. My son Diego went to Mi Casita for preschool and is now at Escondido. Every summer he can’t wait to return to Amor (Founder and Director) and her wonderful program. Every teacher she selects is phenomenal, hand-picked, and trained to be warm, attentive and inspiring. The effort of the teaching team to prepare for each days activity is amazing! I used to be in awe of them late in the afternoon preparing for the next da’s theme or project. I love that Mi Casita is a perfect balance of nature (field trips, growing vegetables and animals in the classroom) and education (a weekly theme). Diego speaks a lovely Spanish now, and easily entered Escondido as a Spanish speaker even though we barely speak Spanish at home. Thanks Mi Casita!!!
